Ronaldo named in worst team of the World Cup along with victorious Argentina ace
Cristiano Ronaldo has been named in the worst World Cup team this year after a shoddy tournament but he is not the only big name in the unwanted line-up.
Portugal had a great chance to go as far as they wanted at the Qatar World Cup with a list of top players that include Ronaldo. Bruno Fernandes, Joao Cancelo, Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias make up some of the Premier League contingent of a star-studded squad.
However, they could only make it to the quarter-finals where surprise package Morocco beat them 1-0 to become the first African team to reach the World Cup semi-finals. But it was huge disappointment for Ronaldo, who at the age of 37 was playing in his last World Cup.

But it all somewhat meekly for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, who was relegated to a bench role – much like he had been at Manchester United before his contract was ripped up.
And it has not got any better with statistics provider SofaScore placing the superstar forward in their worst team of the World Cup.
Ronaldo was given just a score of 6.46 out of 10 after scoring just once – a penalty against Ghana in the opening game. Joining him up top is Lautaro Martinez, who actually won the trophy with Argentina, but was guilty of missing a host of glorious chances throughout the tournament.
The Inter Milan star did not net a single goal in Qatar and was given a rating of just 6.35, while Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy is between the sticks after receiving a rating of 6.30.
Other players in the worst XI including Sergino Dest, Jackson Irvine, Abdou Diallo and Matthew Leckie – despite the latter's brilliant goal against Denmark, which saw them qualify from their group.
Nevertheless, Ronaldo's inclusion will only be the stalk of the cherry on the icing of the cake as he looks to find a new club following his release from United. Al Nassr have offered the Portugal international a whopping contract worth an astonishing £186million.
