Ronaldo Koeman’s car mobbed by Barcelona fans after Real Madrid win El Clasico
Ronald Koeman's car was mobbed by angry Barcelona fans as he left the Nou Camp following a third successive El Clasico defeat to Real Madrid.
The Catalan giants were beaten at home by their arch rivals after goals from Los Blancos defenders David Alaba and Lucas Vazquez.
Former Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero netted his first goal for the hosts in the final minute of stoppage time, but it was just a mere consolation.
Koeman was already under intense scrutiny before the Clasico but now the opposition to his reign is more fierce than ever, with some fans making their feelings clear after the match.
As the Dutch manager drove out of the ground he was met by a sea of Barca supporters, some of whom banged on the vehicle.
It was mostly verbal abuse directed at Koeman with cries of "Get out" and "Get to the street" being heard, as per The Mirror.
The club were quick to criticise the behaviour on social media, issuing a statement which said they'd make sure it didn't happen again.
Will Koeman make it to the end of the season? Let us know in the comments section.
It read: "FC Barcelona publicly condemns the violent and disdainful acts that our manager experienced when leaving the Camp Nou.
"The Club will take security and disciplinary measures so that such unfortunate events do not happen again."
Koeman is only the second manager in history to lose his first three Clasico games following 3-1 and 2-1 defeats last season.
It was also Barcelona's third loss in their last five games in all competitions.
They now sit ninth in the La Liga table with 15 points after nine games played, in contrast to Real who are in second place with 20 points.
Before the incident, Koeman had said in his post-match interview: "I am disappointed with the result but the team tried until the last second.
"We didn't create many clear opportunities. It was an even match but in the end the small details proved key. It is difficult to find positives from losing at home to Madrid, but I liked the attitude of the players.
"There is another game on Wednesday, the season is very long so we will keep fighting."
