Romelu Lukaku makes clear transfer declaration amid Manchester City ‘interest’

Inter Milan ace Romelu Lukaku says he "loves" life in Italy and is entirely content with his current situation.

Lukaku has been in scintillating form this season and Manchester City have reportedly identified him as a transfer target as they prepare for Sergio Aguero's potential departure this summer.

The Belgian's 17 goals have sent him second in the Serie A top scorer charts, behind Cristiano Ronaldo, and he shone as Inter triumphed over city rivals AC Milan on Sunday.

Lukaku spent eights years in England – with Chelsea, Everton and Manchester United – before joining Inter in 2019 and it appears he has no intention of returning to the Premier League.

During a Twitter Q&A, the 27-year-old was asked "When are you coming home?", to which he simply replied "I am home right now".

Lukaku was also asked whether he likes living in Italy and responded "I love it."

The striker's declaration will come as a blow to Manchester City, as he clearly has no desire to leave Inter in the near future.

Before moving to San Siro, Lukaku spent two seasons on Manchester United's books after sealing a £75million transfer from Everton in 2017.

He established himself as one of the finest strikers in the Premier League during his time with the Toffees, after failing to make an impression at Chelsea.

The Blues signed him from Anderlecht in 2011 but he did not find the back of the net in 15 appearances for the west London club.
