Bruno Fernandes gave Manchester United a 2-0 advantage in their crucial clash against Galatasaray with a stunner strike from range. 

The Red Devils skipper picked up the ball from deep before unleashing a fierce drive that flew into the top corner, giving Fernando Muslera no chance. 

The strike left United legend Rio Ferdinand practically speechless, commenting only: ‘Oh my days,’ when the effort flew into the net. 

Fernandes’s 18th-minute wonder goal came seven minutes after he provided the assist for Alejandro Garnacho’s opener in Turkey. 

Buoyed by his terrific overhead kick in a 3-0 weekend victory against Everton, the youngster lashed a left-footed finish into the roof of the net to give the away side the perfect start.

The United skipper’s goal came after he had provided the assist for their opener in Turkey

United came into the game needing to avoid defeat in order to keep their Champions League hopes alive following three losses in their previous four games.

In a thrilling tie, the hosts managed to grab one back through former Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech.

Galatasaray thought they had equalised before the break when Mauro Icardi, who scored the winner at Old Trafford, finished smartly past Andre Onana. 

But the officials flag spared Erik ten Hag’s side, who went in with a 2-1 advantage at the interval.
