Richarlison was 'subject of late interest from Al-Ittihad'
Richarlison was ‘subject of late interest from Al-Ittihad’ after the Saudi Pro League side saw a £150m bid for Mohamed Salah rejected… with a deal for the Brazilian ‘not progressing due to lack of time’
- Al-Ittihad reportedly made a move for Richarlison on deadline day on Thursday
- The Brazilian was seen as an alternative to Liverpool star Salah
- However, there was not enough time to get a deal for Richarlison completed
Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison was reportedly subject of late interest from the Saudi Pro League, with Al-Ittihad making a move for the forward on deadline day in the Middle East.
This comes after the Saudi Pro League side were chasing a deal for Mohamed Salah and saw a £150million bid rejected by Liverpool for their star man.
Senior Saudi executives were in London for talks with Liverpool and were prepared to pay a world-record fee for Salah, but the Reds held firm.
Therefore, they turned to alternative targets on deadline day on Thursday.
The Telegraph report that Tottenham striker Richarlison was subject of late interest from Al-Ittihad.

Talks over a move are believed to have taken place through intermediaries on deadline day
When it became clear that they would not get Salah, the Saudi side looked for alternatives, the report states.
One of these was Spurs’ Richarlison, who has had a miserable time since making the move to Tottenham from Everton last year.
The forward was pictured in tears after being substituted in Brazil’s win over Bolivia on Friday night.
Talks over a move are believed to have taken place through intermediaries.
However, the move didn’t happen as all parties simply ‘ran out of time and did not progress before the 10pm deadline’.
It remains to be seen as to whether sides in the Saudi Pro League could return for Richarlison when the window re-opens in the winter.
It is likely that Al-Ittihad will be back in for Salah after missing out on the Liverpool forward, with Richarlison seen as an alternative.
