Rich ex-Premier League star worth £18m gives hero taxi driver four-figure reward
Former Sunderland star Asamoah Gyan has rewarded an honest taxi driver with GHc10,000 (£1,050) for his honesty after returning GHc8,000 (£868) to a customer.
Kwesi Ackon dropped off a woman at her home on Friday, only to discover she had forgotten a large amount of cash. Mr Ackon drove back to her home the next day to return the cash.
And after going viral, Gyan commented under the video: "I wanna meet him." And true to his word, Gyan gifted Mr Ackon GHc10,000, while the Ghanaian Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, gave an additional sum of GHc20,000 (£2,100) to the taxi driver.
Gyan is now a millionaire mogul, since leaving the Premier League, and the star owns business interests in companies from airlines to boxing promotion.
The Ghanaian had aimed to start Baby Jet Airlines, and it was handed an Air Carriers Licence, but it never commence operations. Other business ventures have been fruitful for the forward.
Particularly his boxing company, where former IBO Lightweight champion Emmanuel Tagoe is one of the fighters they promote.

Gyan is fondly remembered on Tyneside, and he was a key part of a Sunderland side that enjoyed a lengthy stay in the Premier League.
However, he is perhaps better remembered in wider-footballing circles for his role at the 2010 World Cup. Gyan was part of a Ghana side that thrilled in their run to the quarter-finals.
Ghana had a golden chance to become the first Ghanaian side to reach a semi-final after Luis Suarez punched the ball off the line in the 90th minute. However, Gyan blazed the subsequent spot-kick over the bar, and Ghana were knocked out on penalties after extra-time.
