Rice ‘prepared to take action’ as Arsenal and West Ham haggle over transfer
'It's a waste of time if he goes to Arsenal' — West Ham fans on Declan Rice
Declan Rice is reportedly desperate for West Ham to accept Arsenal’s latest £105million bid. Manchester City recently pulled out of the race for the 24-year-old leaving the path clear for the Gunners to snap up their man.
However, there are ongoing negotiations regarding the structure of the deal. Arsenal’s offer consists of £100m in guaranteed cash plus £5m worth of add-ons and are hoping to spread out the costs over a five-year period.
But according to the Daily Mail, West Ham want the base fee to be paid by the start of 2025, preferably in two instalments and so haven’t accepted the bid as of yet as they look to shore up the financial details. The Mail also claim that Rice is going to ask the Hammers to accept Arsenal’s latest offer.
There is growing confidence in Arsenal’s camp that they can get the deal over the line by the end of the day and Rice is just as keen to complete it as quickly as possible.
Talks between both clubs continue as of Wednesday morning. It now looks almost certain that Rice will be heading to the Emirates this summer and could be joining the north Londoners for their pre-season tour over in America next month.
West Ham chairman David Sullivan recently affirmed that the Europa Conference League final was likely to be Rice’s final game in the claret and blue – and confirmed that the Hammers have promised to let him move on to pastures new next season.

He told talkSPORT: “I think it has to be. We promised him he could go. He set his heart on going. You can’t ask for a man who has committed more to us this season.
“In due course, he has to get on and we have to get a replacement – or several replacements. It’s not something we want to happen. We offered him £200,000-a-week 18 months ago. He turned it down.
“It’s cost him £10million to stay at West Ham in that time (in lost wages). And he wants to go. You can’t keep a player who doesn’t want to be there.”
