Red-faced Gary Lineker makes fun of sex noises with Harvey Elliott screamer gag

Gary Lineker made the best of a bad situation after he was interrupted by porn noises as he presented FA Cup action on the BBC.

Liverpool beat Wolves 1-0 in the televised third-round replay on Tuesday (January 17) night thanks to Harvey Elliott's first-half wonder goal. But the action was overshadowed by a pre-match prank from YouTuber Jarvo 69, who had planted a phone in the studio to play the infamous viral sex moans clip.

Lineker was forced to hold back the laughter as best he could as he tried to carry on like normal. But later in the broadcast he went on to make light of the situation with multiple gags.

Reflecting on the action during the break, the Match of the Day host joked: "Harvey Elliott’s goal was a screamer, which isn’t the only one we’ve had tonight."

And then at the end of the programme he said: "Wasn't the most exciting game we've ever seen, especially after the start we had. I meant on the pitch."

Lineker then signed off: "So that's it, Liverpool win it with a Harvey Wall-ball banger."

His colleague Alan Shearer, who was working as co-commentator, also slipped in a joke – throwing pundit Danny Murphy under the bus in the process.

A brief blackout at the start of the game prompted him to say: "Floodlights going off, Danny Murphy’s phone going off in the studio. What else can happen?"

Later in the night he made another comment. "At least they had control of things in the studio at half time. See what happens when I leave the studio. Chaos," said Shearer.

Despite viewers finding the incident utterly hilarious, the BBC were forced to apologise. A spokesperson said: "We apologise to any viewers offended during the live coverage of the football this evening. We are investigating how this happened."

It quickly became the talk of social media, with Lineker posting a screenshot of the trending tab on Twitter with the humorous caption: "Nothing to moan about, I guess."
