Ralf Rangnick could be key to Man Utd landing Antonio Rudiger due to contacts

Manchester United's new interim boss Ralf Rangnick could be the key to bringing Antonio Rudiger to Old Trafford over the summer.

Despite impressing for Chelsea this season, Rudiger's contract is set to expire next summer, and United are leading the charge for his signature.

Thomas Tuchel faces a potential defensive crisis with Rudiger, Thiago Silva, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Andreas Christensen all entering the last six months of their deals.

And Rangnick may be able to lure Rudiger to Old Trafford due to his relationship with Rudiger's agent and half-brother Sahr Senesie.

Transfer guru Christian Falk has revealed that Senesie is willing to negotiate with United.

Falk also states that Chelsea are keen to keep hold of Rudiger, but wage disputes between the pair have so far proven problematic.

The report suggests that Rudiger is demanding considerably more than the £160,000 a week Chelsea are offering.

It's believed that Rudiger is hoping to land a contract worth between £230,000-£290,000-per-week.

However, United could face a battle for his signature with Real Madrid and Bayern Munich also keeping tabs on the centre-back's situation at Stamford Bridge.
