Raheem Sterling transfer to Chelsea ‘depends on at least two more’ Blues deals

Chelsea signing Raheem Sterling from Manchester City this summer will reportedly depend on what happens with Romelu Lukaku and Ousmane Dembele.

The Bluesare keen on securing Sterlingin a £35million transfer from Man City. They are understood to be weighing up a move for the England international, withBarcelona , Real Madrid andArsenalall also interested in the 27-year-old forward.

Sterling has grown frustrated with his intermittent game time under Pep Guardiola at City and is ready to move elsewhere to secure regular minutes. He netted 13 goals in 30 Premier League appearances last season and won a fourth title, but was on the bench for both legs of the Champions League semi-final defeat against Real Madrid and the crucial final game of the season against Aston Villa.

Chelsea have identified Sterling as a possible blockbuster signing for a bargain price, with the forward entering the final 12 months of his City contract. However, a move to Stamford Bridge could be complicated by other transfers coming in and out of Chelsea.

Fabrizio Romano reportsthat there have not yet been any talks between Chelsea and Man City, in part because the Blues are currently focusing on Lukaku and Dembele. Getting the £97.5m record signing Lukaku’s £325,000-a-week wages off the books remains a priority for Thomas Tuchel.

Chelsea are in negotiations with Inter Milan, who are willing to take their former striker back, but are not willing to pay the entirety of his wages and the £10m loan fee the Premier League club want. Meanwhile, Dembele is a target because he is set to leave Barcelona as a free agent at the end of the month.

Tuchel worked with the 25-year-old winger at Borussia Dortmund and rates him highly, but his injury history is a worry and the Blues are yet to commit to signing the Frenchman.

Sterling has seen his chances of regular minutes next season diminish through the signings of Erling Haaland and Julian Alvarez at Man City. His team-mate, Gabriel Jesus, is in the same boat and also looks set to leave the Etihad this summer, with Arsenal currently favourites for his signature, although Chelsea have also been tentatively linked.

With Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen leaving on free transfers, central defence is another priority for Chelsea. The club are in talks with Sevilla over Jules Kounde, while RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, Atletico Madrid’s Jose Gimenez, Juventus’s Matthijs de Ligt and Villarreal’s Pau Torres are all of interest.
