PSG ultras protest outside Neymar’s house and target Messi
Furious Paris Saint Germain fans turned up in their droves to protest outside of the team’s headquarters after Lionel Messi was suspended for two weeks. The Argentine was handed the punishment by club executives for an unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia earlier this week.
Messi had travelled out to the Middle East on Monday to carry out his duties as a tourist ambassador for the Gulf State. But the Qatari owners weren’t pleased that he missed a training session for it and have sanctioned him as a result.
Following the news and PSG’s recent 3-1 loss to Lorient in Ligue 1, which sees Marseille get back within touching distance of them at the top of the table, fans let their displeasure be known by protesting outside the club’s Paris HQ.
Fans lit flares and held banners calling for the owners to resign. One banner read: “leadership resign.” Meanwhile, a second read: “PSG who are you,” and a third had on it: “Where are you going?”
Messi also got his fair share of abuse with fans chanting: “Messi, son of a b****.” While supporters turned up outside Neymar’s house where they could be heard shouting: “Neymar f*** off.”
PSG went on to release a strongly worded statement in response, reading: “Paris Saint-Germain strongly condemns the intolerable and insulting actions of a small group of people, which took place this Wednesday.

According to reports, Messi is set to leave the French giants in the summer. There are three clubs known to be heavily interested in acquiring his services; his boyhood club Barcelona, MLS side Inter Miami and Saudi Pro League club Al Hilal.
The latter of which are reportedly preparing a staggering offer that would see Messi become the highest-paid football player of all time. Backed by the Saudi government, Al Hilal are said to be prepared to place a yearly fee of between £320m and £400m for the Argentine superstar.
It is understood that Messi would prefer to return to Barcelona but there are concerns over the financial viability of the deal with Barca recently hit with further fines for three breaches of La Liga financial fair play rules.
