Premier League: Who is YOUR team's top wage earner?

Erling Haaland blows everyone out of the water on nearly £900,000-a-week, while three of the Premier League’s top stars all pocket £385k… but who’s YOUR club’s top earner?

  • The Premier League is home to some of the highest-paid players in world football
  • Pay packets have skyrocketed, with big clubs able to pay huge salaries to stars
  • Sportsmail takes a look at the three biggest earners at all of the top flight’s teams

The Premier League is the most lucrative division in world football and home to some of the highest-paid players.

Average pay packets have skyrocketed in recent years, with clubs such as Manchester United, City and Liverpool able to fork out monstrous salaries.

It’s not surprising that the stars of the Premier League, such as Mo Salah, Erling Haaland and Casemiro, benefit from more money.

Here, Sportsmail takes a look at the three biggest earners at each of the top flight’s 20 teams.

All figures have been independently sourced, however some of the numbers provided are approximations and not exact figures.

Erling Haaland earns £385,000-per-week basic – but pockets nearly £900k thanks to bonuses

Mo Salah (right) bags £385,000-per-week after signing a new deal at Liverpool last summer

Arsenal

1. Gabriel Jesus £270,000-per-week; 2. Thomas Partey £220,000-per-week; 3. Oleksandr Zinchenko £200,000-per-week

Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus joined the Gunners from Manchester City for £45million last summer and has revitalised the club’s attack.

Though he has missed several parts of the season with niggling injuries, he is back fit now.

The Brazilian shot straight to the top of the club’s highest earners list when he signed a five-year contract worth around £270,000 a week last summer.

Jesus overtook Thomas Partey, who earns £220,000. The Ghanaian has become one of the most important players at the Emirates Stadium and has formed a vital partnership in midfield with Granit Xhaka.

Gabriel Jesus joined the Gunners from Man City and has a salary of £270,000-per-week

Partey, a holding midfielder, has contributed important goals to his side in games against Tottenham and Leicester, as well as in the Gunners’ dramatic comeback win over Bournemouth.

Oleksandr Zinchenko also made the switch from City to the Gunners in a £30million deal, with the Ukrainian earning £200,000-a-week. He has been a big hit at the north London club and the 26-year-old could prove their most crucial weapon in their title charge.

Aston Villa

1. Philippe Coutinho £120,000-per-week; 2. Emiliano Martinez £100,000-per-week; 3. Tyrone Mings £95,000-per-week

Philippe Coutinho sealed a permanent switch to Aston Villa from Barcelona for about £17million last summer.

Despite his hefty price tag and salary, the Brazilian spends most of his weekends on the Birmingham club’s bench.

Emiliano Martinez is better known for his exploits with Argentina after playing a key role in the country’s World Cup triumph in Qatar.

Martinez was bought for an initial £16million three years ago and Villa will listen to offers for the goalkeeper this summer, which could save the high-flying club a substantial amount in wages as he pockets £100,000-a-week.

Tyrone Mings has been a stalwart for Villa since they returned to the Premier League in 2019 and is the club’s third highest earner.

The centre-back signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal in February pushing him closer to the top of the club’s pay scale.

Philippe Coutinho is Aston Villa’s highest earner but has struggled for gametime this season

Bournemouth

1. Jefferson Lerma £55,000-per-week; 2= Neto £50,000-per-week; 2= Dominic Solanke £50,000-per-week

Jefferson Lerma, Neto and Dominic Solanke are all said to be earning around £50,000-per-week at Bournemouth. Lerma is believed to be pocketing slightly more, at £55,000-a-week.

The Cherries captured Colombia central midfielder Lerma from Levante on a five-year deal for a club-record fee of £25million in 2018.

Goalkeeper Neto signed a three-year contract extension, committing his future with the club until the summer of 2026.

The 33-year-old joined Bournemouth on a free transfer in the summer from Barcelona, signing a one-year deal.

Solanke moved to Bournemouth from Liverpool in a permanent transfer worth at least £19million in 2019.

Brentford

1= Ben Mee £50,000-per-week; 1= Mathias Jensen £50,000-per-week; 1= Bryan Mbeumo £50,000-per-week

Ben Mee, Mathias Jensen and Bryan Mbeumo all bank around £50,000-per-week at Brentford – far below some of their fellow Premier League players.

The Bees completed the signing of centre-back Mee on a free transfer last summer with the 33-year-old agreeing a two-year deal.

The move to Brentford saw Mee end an 11-year association with Burnley, having joined from Manchester City in January 2012 after an initial loan spell with the club.

Jensen helped Brentford reach the Premier League. His poise was crucial as Thomas Frank’s side made consecutive play-off finals.

Winger Mbeumo, a former France U17 international, was signed in 2019 from Espérance Sportive Troyes Aube Champagne.

Brighton

1= Lewis Dunk £72,000-per-week; 1= Alexis Mac Allister £72,000-per-week

Seagulls captain Lewis Dunk signed a five-year Brighton deal until 2025 and earns £72,000-a-week, the same as in-demand Argentina star Alexis Mac Allister.

Mac Allister penned a new deal at the Amex Stadium through to June 2025 with the option of a further year, just a month before the World Cup started – although it is unlikely to put off interested suitors.

A host of leading European clubs have now been linked to the Argentine World Cup winner with his success in Qatar undoubtedly boosting his value.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are among those thought to be interested in the 24-year-old.

Brighton captain Lewis Dunk is unsurprisingly the high-flying Seagulls’ highest earner

Chelsea

1. Raheem Sterling £350,000-per-week; 2. N’Golo Kante £340,000-per-week; 3. Romelu Lukaku £325,000-per-week

Given Chelsea’s £600m outlay since Todd Boehly’s arrival at the club, it is not surprising that one of his new recruits has taken the top-earner badge from N’Golo Kante at Stamford Bridge.

Sterling joined Chelsea from Manchester City last summer for £47.5million, signing a five-year deal on around £350,000-a-week.

He is earning around £10,000 more than Kante, whose current deal expires at the end of the season.

Talks are reportedly ongoing with the French midfielder and he is expected to remain at the club, although Arsenal are thought to be circling.

Raheem Sterling arrived at Chelsea in a £45million deal from Manchester City last summer

The 31-year-old has been a crucial part of Chelsea’s first team since arriving from Leicester for £32million in 2016, helping the Blues to a Premier League title and Champions League trophy during his seven-year stint at Stamford Bridge.

Third on Chelsea’s list is Romelu Lukaku, who earns £325,000-per-week having transferred from Inter Milan for £98million in 2021 but is back in Italy on loan at his former club after failing to deliver with the Blues.

According to reports, Inter are paying the bulk of the Belgian’s hefty wage packet.

Crystal Palace

1. Wilfried Zaha £130,000-per-week; 2. Joachim Andersen £100k-per-week; 3. Odsonne Edouard £65,000-per-week

Wilfried Zaha is yet to pen a new deal with Crystal Palace and has rejected multiple attempts to tie him down.

The 30-year-old Ivory Coast winger’s contract expires in the summer and there is a growing expectation that Zaha will leave the club, possibly for a huge £9m-a-year wage in Saudi Arabia.

Palace captured Danish centre-back Joachim Andersen, 26, from Lyon in July 2021.

Andersen, who impressed while on-loan at Fulham, signed a five-year deal with the Selhurst Park club and is also believed to be on six figures.

Striker Odsonne Edouard completed his £18million move from Celtic to the Premier League in 2021. He has flattered to deceive at times, scoring just 12 times in 60 appearances for Palace.

Everton

1. Yerry Mina £120,000-per-week; 2. Jordan Pickford £110,000-per-week; 3. Dominic Calvert-Lewin £85,000-per-week

Yerry Mina arrived as the giant to bolster Everton’s back four from Barcelona in 2018 with a £30million price tag.

He has become the Merseyside club’s most important defender, but has suffered several injuries over the past few seasons.

Colombia international Mina scored three goals at the 2018 World Cup, including a late equaliser against England in the last 16, a record for a defender at a single tournament.

Jordan Pickford is one of Everton’s most recognisable names – but is not the club’s top earner

Jordan Pickford put pen to paper on a new deal in February in what was a huge coup for the struggling club as they look to preserve their top flight status.

Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing the England international despite the goalkeeper, whose contract runs until June 2027.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has endured a dire last few years, blighted by consistent injury problems and, as such, a failure to put together a true run of games. He’s Everton’s third-highest earner on £85,000-a-week.

The Everton striker is on a deal running to the summer of 2025 after joining from Sheffield United in August 2016.

Fulham

1. Aleksandar Mitrovic £130,000-per-week; 2= Cedric Soares £100,000-per-week; 2= Tom Cairney £100,000-per-week; 2= Bernd Leno £100,000-per-week

Aleksandar Mitrovic, who has 12 goals in 25 appearances in all competitions this season, was on a summer shortlist of targets for Manchester United.

The Serbian star, 28, was recently banned for eight games and fined £75,000 by the FA for shoving referee Chris Kavanagh, but will still be given his salary by his club.

Cedric Soares joined Fulham on loan in January from Arsenal until the end of the season.

The Gunners were keen to send Cedric out on loan given the fact he has been surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium.

Bernd Leno left Arsenal after four years in 2022 to join the Cottagers.

The German goalkeeper played 125 games for Arsenal following his 2018 arrival, but found game time hard to come by with the emergence of Ramsdale after a £30million switch from Sheffield United.

Cedric, Tom Cairney and Bernd Leno all pocket the same weekly wage of £100,000.

Wilfried Zaha is yet to pen a new deal with Crystal Palace, but gets paid £130,000-per-week

Leeds United

1= Georginio Rutter £100,000-per-week; 1= Luis Sinisterra £100,000-per-week; 1= Patrick Bamford £100,000-per-week

Georginio Rutter, Luis Sinisterra and Patrick Bamford all net about £100,000-per-week at Leeds.

Rutter, who sealed a club-record £35.5million move to Leeds from Hoffenheim in January, has struggled to find his feet in the Premier League so far.

The forward began his career at Ligue 1 side Rennes, where he became the youngest French player to score in the Champions League aged 18.

Leeds signed Colombia international winger Sinisterra last year from Feyenoord in a deal reportedly worth £21million.

The 23-year-old signed a five-year contract and started his career with Once Caldas in his native Colombia before being signed by Dutch club Feyenoord in the summer of 2018 at the age of 19.

Bamford struggled for form under Jesse Marsch, with the striker having netted only three goals over the past two Premier League seasons. He has also battled several injury problems.

It is a far cry from the 17 league goals he scored during the 2020-21 season on Leeds’ return to the top flight that saw him called up to the England squad in August 2021.

Leicester City

1. Jamie Vardy £150,000-per-week; 2. James Maddison £110,000-per-week; 3. Jonny Evans £100,000-per-week

Jamie Vardy may be entering the twilight of his career but still tops the wage chart at Leicester.

Vardy, who cost just £1m from Fleetwood Town in May 2012 and is one of the greatest strikers the Premier League has ever seen, pockets around £150,000-a-week.

From non-league obscurity to Premier League champion, World Cup semi-finalist, FA Cup winner and Golden Boot holder, Vardy may not have long left at the top level.

James Maddison, who has returned from injury, has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the King Power Stadium and has so far shown no inclination to pen an extension.

Leicester are increasingly unlikely to be able to hold on to Maddison in the summer, even if they avoid relegation. Newcastle and Tottenham are among those linked with the 26-year-old, who could increase his salary if he opts to move from the King Power.

Jonny Evans opted to join Leicester in 2018 from West Brom and helped the team win their first ever FA Cup.

Jamie Vardy only has one goal this season, however his pay packet is £150,000-per-week

Virgil van Dijk (left) earns £300,000-per-week and he has been a talisman for Liverpool

Liverpool

1. Mo Salah £385,000-per-week; 2. Virgil van Dijk £300,000-per-week; 3. Thiago Alcantara £210,000-per-week

Salah put pen to paper on a new deal at Anfield last summer that is due to run until 2025. It is worth £15,000 shy of £400,000-a-week, making the Egyptian star the highest paid player in Liverpool’s history.

The Reds – and to a certain extent Salah – have struggled this season and face an uphill battle to make the top four.

The uncertainty surrounding Salah’s future could be a worry for Liverpool fans after they lost Sadio Mane to Bayern Munich last summer, while Roberto Firmino has already confirmed he will depart the club at the end of the season.

Following his £39million move from Roma in 2017, Salah has been a massive hit at Anfield, and recently moved past Robbie Fowler as Liverpool’s top scorer in the Premier League era.

Virgil van Dijk has been a talisman for the Reds ever since his £75million move from Southampton back in January 2018 but the Dutch defender has come in for heavy criticism amid his club’s struggles during the current campaign.

Thiago Alcantara, who signed for Liverpool in January 2022, has been out since October due to a persistent knee injury. His contract expires in 2024.

Manchester City

1= Erling Haaland £865,000-per-week;  1= Kevin De Bruyne £385,000-per-week; 3. Jack Grealish £300,000-per-week

Erling Haaland has been a goalscoring machine in his debut for Manchester City – which has greatly helped his pocket as well as his team.

The 22-year-old, at the time of writing, has scored 45 goals in all competitions.

The Norwegian striker’s form in front of goal means he is earning nearly £900,000-a-week, as revealed by Mail Sport back in October.

Kevin De Bruyne has been one of the best players in the top flight over recent seasons, helping his side to four titles under Pep Guardiola.

The Belgian international – renowned for his incredible deliveries and vision – has faced questions over his form this season.

Jack Grealish is becoming a mainstay of Guardiola’s side and looking more and more like a £100million player.

The 27-year-old had an inconsistent first season at the Etihad Stadium following his then British record move from Aston Villa in 2021.

Manchester United

1= Casemiro £375,000-per-week; 1= David de Gea £375,000-per-week; 2= Marcus Rashford £250,000-per-week; 2= Anthony Martial £250,000-per-week; 2= Jadon Sancho £250,000-per-week

Casemiro has been hugely impressive since joining United from Real Madrid, where he won an array of trophies.

While at Real Madrid, Casemiro won the Champions League on five occasions, while also capturing three LaLiga titles, as many Club World Cups and the Copa del Rey.

The Brazilian star is joint-top of United’s wage chart with David de Gea, whose £375,000-a-week deal expires in the summer.

United want the former Atletico Madrid keeper to accept a pay-cut before offering him a new contract on reduced terms, sparking uncertainty over his future.

Marcus Rashford is enjoying his best season yet with 27 goals in 45 games across all competitions and is also discussing a new deal at Old Trafford.

David de Gea earns £375,000-a-week at Manchester United but his deal expires in the summer

He has taken a huge stride under Erik ten Hag after looking devoid of confidence last campaign, when he netted just five times in 32 appearances.

Martial cost United almost £60m but in eight seasons has come nowhere near the world-beating potential he had in 2015.

He just keeps suffering injury setbacks that prevent him from getting any kind of form or momentum, and the fact he earns the same as Rashford continues to raise eyebrows.

It’s been a season of struggle for Sancho, who spent time away from United because Ten Hag had concerns for his physical and mental wellbeing before being reintegrated.

We still haven’t seen the best of the £73million winger in United colours.

Kevin De Bruyne has been one of the best players in the top flight and nets £385,000-per-week

Newcastle United

1= Kieran Trippier £120,000-per-week; 1= Bruno Guimaraes £120,000-per-week; 1= Callum Wilson £120,000-per-week; 1= Alexander Isak £120,000-per-week

Kieran Trippier, Bruno Guimaraes, Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak all earn circa £120,000-per-week at Newcastle.

Trippier is a leader in the truest sense for the Magpies – and the symbol of their new regime under manager Eddie Howe and their Saudi-led owners.

The England right back was the first signing of the club’s new era in January 2022 – joining in a £12million deal from Atletico Madrid and helping the St. James’ Park outfit avoid Premier League relegation. He signed a two-and-a-half year deal with the club.

Brazilian playmaker Guimaraes has starred since moving to the north-east just over a year ago and has been central to the team’s rise to third in the Premier League.

Striker Alexander Isak is one of four Newcastle players on around £120,000-a-week

Wilson, who has been with the Magpies since September 2020, netted his 29th and 30th goals for the Toon as they ran riot at West Ham.

Swedish-born striker Isak has struggled for consistent form since his arrival at the Saudi-backed club in August following his £63m transfer deal from Real Sociedad, largely due to injuries. It is thought he has signed a six-year contract at Newcastle, but could expect an increase should they qualify for the Champions League.

Nottingham Forest

1. Jesse Lingard £120,000-per-week; 2. Chris Wood £100,000-per-week; 3. Jonjo Shelvey £75,000-per-week

Jesse Lingard has suffered a stuttering start to his career at Nottingham Forest after signing for the club on a much-talked-about free transfer last summer.

Lingard is Forest’s highest earner following his switch from Manchester United, where he was on a reported £115,000-a-week.

Chris Wood completed his loan move to Forest from Newcastle and is set to join the club permanently in the summer.

The forward joined on loan until the end of campaign before various clauses were met, triggering a £15m deal.

Jonjo Shelvey signed for Forest on a two-and-a-half-year deal on deadline day in February, ending a seven-year stint at St James’ Park.

Shelvey helped the club through some difficult times and left just as things look to be taking off following their takeover in 2021.

Southampton

1. James Ward-Prowse £110,000-per-week; 2. Theo Walcott £75,000-per-week; 3 Joe Aribo £70,000-per-week

James Ward-Prowse, 28, has been a Southampton player since joining the academy 19 years ago.

The Southampton captain still has three years left on his current deal, meaning the Saints are under no pressure to sell their prized asset, who pockets a cool £110,000-a-week.

Theo Walcott earns in the region of £75,000-per-week, but has hinted that Southampton’s relegation battle could cause him to retire.

Walcott has had a successful career in the Premier League as he won two FA Cups during his 12-year spell with Arsenal.

He also scored 78 goals in the Premier League and earned 47 caps with England.

Joe Aribo, who moved from Rangers to the Saints last summer in a deal that could rise to £10m, reportedly earns £5,000-a-week less than Walcott.

Jesse Lingard has suffered a stuttering start at Forest, yet still earns £120,000-per-week

Tottenham Hotspur

1. Harry Kane £300,000-per-week; 2. Son Heung-min £210,000-per-week; 3. Ivan Perisic £180,000-per-week

Harry Kane has just over a year remaining on his current contract at Tottenham.

The 29-year old, who is expected to attract enquiries from rivals at the end of the season with Manchester United and Bayern Munich both interested, is by far Spurs’ highest-paid player.

Kane is Spurs’ all-time record goalscorer having found the net on 271 occasions for the club, but he is still waiting to land his first trophy.

He receives £300,000-a-week – depending on bonuses – which is £90,000 more than Son Heung-Min in second.

Son has struggled for form this season after winning the golden boot in 2021-22.

Harry Kane has over a year remaining on his current contract and bags £300,000-per-week

The South Korean forward has 11 goals and four assists in 37 games across all competitions.

Ivan Perisic signed a two-year contract to join Tottenham on a free transfer from Inter Milan last summer, making him the third-highest earner at the club.

West Ham United

1. Lucas Paqueta £150,000-per-week; 2. Kurt Zouma £125,000-per-week; 3. Danny Ings £100,000-per-week

Lucas Paqueta joined the Hammers for £51million in the summer transfer window and has been one of David Moyes’ bright sparks.

The Brazilian star and attacking midfielder joined West Ham from French club Lyon on a five-year deal which included the option of a further 12 months.

Defender Kurt Zouma has been a regular presence in the Premier League for nearly a decade after spells with Chelsea, Stoke and Everton before joining the Hammers in 2021.

In June, Zouma was ordered to carry out 180 hours of community service and banned from keeping cats for five years after admitting kicking and slapping his pet cat.

Moyes is hopeful that the experienced Danny Ings, a £15million signing from Aston Villa in January, can save his job.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

1. Pablo Sarabia £90,000-per-week; 2= Raul Jimenez £85,000-per-week; 2= Joao Moutinho £85,000-per-week

Wolves signed Pablo Sarabia from Paris St Germain for £4.4million in January.

The 30-year-old agreed to a two-and-a-half-year deal at Molineux and was captain for Spain Under-19s.

He made 89 appearances while in the French capital, helping them win two Ligue 1 titles, and spent last season on loan at Sporting Lisbon.

Mexican Raul Jimenez has been one of the club’s finest players of the modern era.

However, Wolves have been open to a sale since last summer, as revealed by Sportsmail.

The 31-year-old is one of Wolves’ top earners, on a contract that runs until summer 2024.

Midfielder Joao Moutinho agreed to sign a fresh 12-month contract at Molineux in July last year.

The Portuguese international initially stalled the offer in a bid to land a two-year deal at the club.
