Pep Guardiola’s anguished reaction to Carlo Ancelotti’s pre-match interview
Pep Guardiola appeared to have a downbeat response to Carlo Ancelotti's pre-match interview ahead of Manchester City's clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
The City boss could be seen watching his opposite number speak to the media ahead of kick-off while sitting in the dugout at the Santiago Bernabeu. Guardiola's side took a 4-3 lead to the Spanish capital after emerging narrow victors from last Tuesday's thrilling first leg in Manchester.
He could be seen watching the interview before putting his hand on his forehead and shaking his head as he produced a wry smile in footage captured and posted by BT Sport.
Fans were quick to react to the Spaniard's downbeat reaction to hearing Ancelotti's pre-match thoughts, with one Los Blancos supporter tweeting: "Guardiola is crying already after listening to Carlo Ancelotti, vamos!"
Another added: "He just put one eyebrow up and Pep’s gone into overthink mode." A third added: "Pep’s overthinking again."
Guardiola has garnered a reputation amongst some supporters for overthinking ahead of important matches during his time at City due to some of his past tactical decisions.

Guardiola had been full of praise for Ancelotti in the build-up to the match, following Real Madrid's league title success, telling reporters: "Congratulations to him for winning the Spanish league, I did it, he did it last week.
"I admire him, he's been all over the world, big football countries and fantastic teams. Always incredibly tough, the football is really good."
In winning La Liga, Ancelotti became the first manager to win the league title in each of Europe's top five leagues, after previous titles with Chelsea, AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich.
