Paul Scholes labels Antony ‘one-trick pony’ after Man Utd ace’s outrageous skill
Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has remarkably branded Antony a "one-tricky pony" following his outrageous skill in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
An £86million singing in the summer transfer window, the Brazil international has registered two goals in as many Premier League appearances for the Red Devils this season, netting a scorcher in the 6-3 defeat to arch-rivals Manchester City on Sunday.
Named in the starting line-up against Omonia, Antony's South American flair was on full display with an insane drag-back near the touchline, which dumbfounded left-back Jan Lecjaks. The former Ajax star then put on the afterburners to race away from his opponent before winning a free-kick for United.

But, on a largely frustrating European night, the Red Devils wasted a plethora of first-half opportunities and Omonia took full advantage to claim the lead at the end of the opening period, thanks to Karim Ansarifard's near post-finish.

After mounting a second-half comeback, United claimed a 3-2 away win – mainly courtesy of half-time substitute Marcus Rashford. Erik ten Hag was quick to claim his side were far "too static" in the first-half. Paul Scholes agreed analysing the game on BT Sport.
"He [Ten Hag] was right about the wingers being static," said Scholes. "[Jadon] Sancho never really runs in behind. He needs a fast left-back really or a centre-forward to link up with and he hasn’t really got that at the moment.
"Antony on the other side as well, he doesn’t run in behind. He seems to be a bit of a one-trick pony. He’s always cutting inside and either passing back to the full-back or having a shot. You’re thinking he needs to develop a little bit. It’s still early days for him, we know that."
Disappointed at United's lethargic first-half display, Ten Hag is demanding a fast start in United's next Premier League fixture.
"It has to only be a warm-up, on Sunday [away at Everton] we have to react," Ten Hag told reporters. "We started well, then an unnecessary mistake and a really bad 10 minutes. We have to learn from it. You let the crowd get alive, you have to avoid that.
"At half-time, we said we wanted more runs, we are too static, we have to make the opposition move to get behind – that is why we made two subs. The subs really had an impact today."
