Victor Osimhen has been praised for his willingness to allow his fans to take photos with his Man of the Match award from the Champions League. The Napoli star was in flying form again on Wednesday night against Frankfurt, with numerous sides readying offers for the striker.
Osimhen scored twice in the 3-0 win to put Napoli into the quarter-finals, opening the scoring on the cusp of half-time before doubling his side’s lead in the 53rd minute from close-range. The Nigeria international is thriving at the minute and has been one of the best-performing strikers in Europe, catching the attention of several sides.
Manchester United have identified Osimhen as a leading contender to be their long-term No 9, with Erik ten Hag desperate to acquire a forward over the summer. The Red Devils waved goodbye to Cristiano Ronaldo earlier this season and are also tempted to offload Anthony Martial, creating a major vacancy through the middle.
Osimhen has played down speculation that he would like to leave Napoli, though his behaviour off the pitch could justify his inevitably significant price tag as he seems good-spirited and humble – thus unlikely to cause a stir in the dressing room.

The striker was filmed sharing a moment with a Nigerian fan after the Champions League clash on Wednesday, giving them his Man of the Match award from earlier that evening after being flagged down on his way home. The supporter was overjoyed to hold the trophy and told the camera about how he was keeping the trophy, though social media later suggested Osimhen didn’t offer the honour as a permanent gift, albeit this remains unconfirmed.
The 24-year-old is entirely committed to helping Napoli to a historic Serie A success as it stands, though he refused to rule out a move when the campaign concludes if an offer arrives that his current side approves of. Speaking after the Frankfurt match, he said: “I don’t know what the future holds. I think I’m on the right track. At the end of the season.
