Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s thoughts on joining Man City after playing for Man Utd
Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly ‘agreed’ a stunning deal to join Man City from Juventus, with Citizens striker Gabriel Jesus set to head the other way.
The shocking deal comes just days after Ronaldo made it clear that he wanted to leave the Old Lady.
While it initially seemed that no club was willing to make a deal happen, earlier today Spanish outlet AS reported that an agreement between City and Juventus is ‘imminent.
The swap deal will station Ronaldo in Manchester until 2023, and will see the five-time Ballon d’Or winner join Man Utd’s local rivals after spending six seasons as a Red Devil between 2003 and 2009.
After reports of the deal circulated earlier today, Man Utd fans took to Twitter to share their anger at the transfer.
One fan boldly claimed, “If Ronaldo ever dons the Manchester City jersey, it’s over for him in being thought of as one of the best players ever. The Manchester United fan base will demolish his career.”
A second bluntly said, “My favourite player of all time to one of my least…Messi didn’t move to Real Madrid.”

Another man who will likely have some strong thoughts on Ronaldo’s transfer is Man Utd manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Remarkably, Solskjaer and Ronaldo played alongside one another between 2003 and 2007.
Despite this close relationship, Solskjaer is unlikely to forgive Ronaldo for his shocking move, having previously blasted players who swap Old Trafford for the Etihad Stadium, and vice versa.
"When I played for Man United, if a rival club tried to sign me, and I had gone, well where’s the loyalty?" Solskjaer said, via the Evening Standard.
"Loyalty is one of the values I really, really put highly. I wouldn’t expect any player who has played for a club for 10 years to want to go to their local rivals.
"It’s not for me. I know we’re professionals, but when you play for Man Utd you don’t go to Man City. We’ve had examples of that and I didn’t really agree with it.
"I won’t name names but you all know who I mean. Enough said."
