Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sticks boot into Liverpool over top four chances
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has told Liverpool he couldn't care less if he's damaged their chances of Champions League qualification.
The Manchester United boss has come under fire for fielding a weakened side in the 2-1 defeat to Leicester at Old Trafford on Tuesday night.
Solskjaer made good on his promise to ring the changes and made 10 to help the Foxes secure a huge win in their own battle to secure a top four finish.
Jurgen Klopp's men find themselves seven points adrift of the top four with just three games remaining, including tonight's re-arranged trip to United.
Liverpool have been left seething that Solskjaer has been allowed to send out a reserve team, due to the fact United were landed with three games in just five days.
The hectic schedule came about because Liverpool's clash at Old Trafford had to be called off after United's own supporters invaded the stadium.
Liverpool reckon they've now been punished through no fault of their own.
But Solskjaer has hit back to fan the flames ahead of English football's biggest game, by telling his bitter-rivals he's done nothing wrong and that his only concern is his own team and no-one else's.
The United boss said: "My job is with Manchester United and my concern is the Manchester United fans.
"What they think about my team, what they want from my team and that we come together as one and show what Manchester United is."
Solskjaer has promised to make changes again for the visit of Klopp's deposed champions, as he looks to cement a second place finish in the table and manage his players' fitness ahead of the Europa League final.
He added: "There will be changes, of course, but many of the players that played against Leicester did really well, so they're in contention as well.
"It's about managing the squad now, building momentum and confidence, making sure we get enough points to get second and then going into the final confident."
