Wolves defender Willy Boly has agreed personal terms with Nottingham Forest ahead of a move to the City Ground, according to reports.

The 31-year-old refused to play in Wolves’ 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Sunday and now looks set to become Forest’s 19th signing of a busy summer for the promoted side.

Foot Mercato are reporting that he is on the verge of signing for the newly-promoted outfit, who appear poised to add to their spending total of £140m.

Willy Boly is set to move from Wolves to Nottingham Forest before the transfer deadline

Boly joined Wolves from Porto in 2018 and has been an integral part of the squad that has become an established Premier League side.

However, he has seen his game time reduced at Molineux under Bruno Lage and made just 10 appearances for the club last season. The defender is yet to feature this campaign and now looks set for a new challenge with Steve Cooper’s men.

Speaking before the game at Molineux on Sunday, Wolves’ Portuguese manager all but confirmed Boly’s exit and the reasons behind him not wanting to be part of the match day squad.

‘He has a proposal in his hands and he wants to go, that is my feeling when I talk to him,’ Lage said.

Bruno Lage said that Boly refused to be part of the match day squad against Newcastle

‘I told him I need a top player like you on the bench and afterwards he makes his decision. He was in the squad list and he didn’t come.’

Boly’s impending move to Forest continues the club’s incredible transfer window that has seen nearly twenty new faces arrive in Nottingham as they bid for Premier League survival.

The Ivorian will join the likes of Jesse Lingard, Cheikhou Kouyate, Neco Williams, Morgan Gibbs-White, Taiwo Awoniyi and Renan Lodi in Cooper’s squad.

Gibbs-White and Lingard both started in Forest’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham on Sunday and club currently sit in 14th place in the table ahead of a daunting trip to Manchester City tomorrow night.
