Neymar admission gives Man Utd upper hand in Cristiano Ronaldo transfer race
Neymar’s admission on his current situation at PSG may well have handed Manchester United the upper hand in the race to sign Cristiano Ronaldo.
Both United and PSG have been linked with a move for Ronaldo this summer as he seeks an exit from Juventus.
The Portuguese superstar is the top scorer in Serie A with 25 goals from 29 appearances, but he appears to have become increasingly frustrated with their poor form this term.
I Bianconeri sit down in fourth place, and are level on points with fifth-placed AC Milan, which would leave them out of the Champions League qualification places.
According to Tuttosport, Ronaldo will look to leave the club if they fail to finish in the top four, while Juve may struggle to foot his huge wages if they don’t manage to qualify for Europe’s premier club competition.
Ronaldo has been linked with a return to United or a switch to mega-rich PSG, who are still chasing that elusive Champions League title.
However, following comments from Brazilian trickster and poster boy Neymar about a contract extension, United could well have gained a huge advantage if they do look to re-sign Ronaldo.
“We are in talks with PSG. There is nothing pressing,” he told French outlet RMC Sport earlier this week.
"Everything is nearly sorted. I feel at ease. I feel truly very happy here at PSG.
"Concerning the fans, that is what I can’t wait for the most, for them to be back in the stadium.

"I hope that they support all the players, that they will be there to encourage us.”
PSG did suffer a huge setback in their hopes of breaking their Champions League duck as they lost 2-1 at home to Manchester City on Wednesday night.
The result means they will have to score at least twice at the Etihad Stadium next week to secure victory due to the away goals rule.
