Newcastle United ‘want’ Balotelli, target Everton ace and get huge Dembele boost
Newcastle United are chasing former Manchester City and Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli, according to reports.
Balotelli's last appearance in the Premier League came nearly seven years ago when he was named in the starting XI in Liverpool's 1-0 loss to Hull City at the KC Stadium on April 28, 2015.
But reports have suggested that newly-rich Newcastle want to sign the Italian forward following their takeover by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund last October.
It comes following reports that the club could also move for Everton centre-back Yerry Mina, while Barcelona have reportedly offered the Magpies a chance to sign Ousmane Dembele before the January transfer window closes at the end of the month.
Daily Star Sport has taken a look at the latest Newcastle United transfer news below.
Magpies "want" Balotelli
Newcastle want to bring Mario Balotelli back to the Premier League, it has been reported.
The former Italy international is currently plying his trade in Turkey for Adana Demirspor, who are managed by former Fulham star Vincenzo Montella.
Spanish publication Inside Futbol reports that Adana Demirspor's president Murat Sancak has confirmed he has received "interest in signing Balotelli from Saudi Arabia".
Sancak said: "Newcastle was considering signing Balotelli, but so far they have not made an official offer.
"There is an exit clause in his contract. But I cannot reveal the amount of that clause."
But reports suggest Balotelli's current club do not want to sell their star forward.

Mina move
Everton centre-back Yerry Mina has emerged as Newcastle's latest target in defence, it has been claimed.
TEAMtalk reports that the Magpies could turn to Mina after failing in their efforts to sign Burnley’s James Tarkowski and Lille's Sven Botman.
Newcastle have held discussions with Spanish side Sevilla for Diego Carlos, but the report says that with nothing yet agreed Newcastle are starting to look at other options and could make a loan move for Everton's Mina.

Dembele boost
Barcelona have offered Newcastle the chance to sign Ousmane Dembele this month, according to reports.
The French winger's contract expires at the end of the season, with Spanish publication Sport reporting he is "lightyears" away from extending his stay at the Camp Nou.
That has left cash-strapped Barca desperate to sell the player this month so they can at least gain some money from his departure, the report adds.
But Newcastle could face competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United, the report states, who also shown interest in signing him.
