The Newcastle United fan who received medical attention just before half time in the Magpies clash with Tottenham Hotspur has been stabilised.

Newcastle tweeted: "The supporter who was in need of urgent medical assistance has been stabilised and is on their way to hospital.

"Our thoughts are with them."

Play was suspended in the 41st minute when Spurs full back Sergio Reguilon signalled Andre Marriner to the far side of the pitch.

Eric Dier was quick to rush across to the technical area, after play was suspended, making a chest pumping motion, to ask for medical attention on behalf of the fan.

Marriner gathered the players near the technical area before returning to talk to the police about the emergency.
