Newcastle United are reportedly closing in on three more transfer deals to round off their window as Monday’s deadline closes in. Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, Brighton’s Dan Burn and Lyon’s Bruno Guimaraes are the trio in question, although the Magpies have supposedly given up hope in their pursuit of Manchester United outcast Jesse Lingard.
Toon boss Eddie Howe made a series of promising transfer comments as he addressed the media on Friday afternoon.
The Newcastle squad are warm weather training in Saudi Arabia, but the recruitment team are still working their fingers to the bone in an attempt to eke every last drop out of the window.
Bruno Guimaraes appears to be on the verge of completing a lucrative £40million move from Lyon, with a medical expected to be completed on Friday.
Having edged out rival interest from Arsenal, the Brazilian is one of numerous name to get Magpies fans excited and optimistic about their prospects of survival.

According to The Telegraph, two more names have also entered the fray on Tyneside, including Arsenal striker Nketiah.
The 22-year-old opted against signing a new contract in north London this season, despite Arsenal’s wishes, which could see him leave for a reasonable price.
At present, the frontman is into the final six months of his contract, so the Gunners should have plenty of incentive to sell given that it may be their final chance to recoup a fee.
The same report states that Newcastle have been quietly working on the deal for some time, and Howe is keen on recruiting youth in attack to challenge Chris Wood and Callum Wilson.

Nketiah would be the second Arsenal youngster to tread a path to the north east in recent times, with Joe Willock making the same switch during the summer.
So far this season, Nketiah has bagged five goals in all competitions, with all of them coming in the Carabao Cup.
Despite having an initial bid rejected, Newcastle are also reported to be in with a good chance of signing 6ft 7in Dan Burn before Monday’s deadline.
The 29-year-old is supposedly keen to return to the north east, having grown up in Northumberland, and the Magpies have been led to believe that another bid would be welcomed by the Seagulls.

Howe and co. have been slapped down time and again on their hunt for a centre-back this month, with approaches for Lille’s Sven Botman and Sevilla’s Diego Carlos both falling flat.
With time running out to sure up their defence before knuckling down for the rest of the campaign, it looks as though Burn could now be the most realistic option.
TeleFootball adds that the arrivals of Guimaraes, Nketiah and Burn would conclude Newcastle’s busy January window.
That effectively rules out a move for Jesse Lingard, with Man Utd standing firm on their astronomical loan demands, despite his peripheral role under Ralf Rangnick this campaign.
