Newcastle United are reportedly keeping tabs on RB Leipzig midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai after his impressive season.
The Hungarian international has scored 18 goals in 88 appearances for the Bundesliga club over the past two seasons.
Leipzig struck twice late in the game to snatch a 2-1 comeback win over visiting Werder Bremen on Sunday as Szoboszlai tapped in the winner.
The Magpies sent scouts to watch Szoboszlai’s performance and the 22-year-old is said to have a £61million release clause in his contract, according to Sky Germany.
Szoboszlai spoke to Tag24 after the game and cast doubt over his future when asked about staying with Leipzig.

‘I’m definitely still with RB Leipzig for three games,’ Szoboszlai said.
‘I would like to play in the Champions League and would like to win my second trophy with RB Leipzig. We will see what happens after the summer.’
He also corrected a reporter who said he was staying with Leipzig. ‘I didn’t say that,’ Szoboszlai commented.
Szoboszlai played under Leipzig manager Marco Rose at Red Bull Salzburg and is a clever creator on the right wing.
He made his debut at the age of 17 in May 2018 and scored on his Champions League debut in the 6-2 win against Genk, a match famous for fellow youngster Erling Haaland’s hat-trick.
Leipzig, who next week face leaders Bayern Munich, are third on 60 points, one ahead of Union Berlin in fourth and four in front of fifth-placed Freiburg.
The top four teams qualify for the lucrative Champions League group stage next season.
Eddie Howe will need to strengthen his squad if they qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Sitting third in the Premier League table, Newcastle are on course to play Champions League football for the first time since the 2003-04 season.
