Gary Neville jokes HE will sign an Arsenal fans’ petition bidding to get him BANNED from the Emirates, after they interrupted his Sky podcast as he doubled down on belief that Man City will pip them to the title
- Gary Neville doubled down on his prediction that Arsenal won’t win the title
- More than 16,000 fans said they’d support him being banned from Emirates
- But the former Man United defender joked he would sign their petition too
Gary Neville has joked he would sign a petition banning him from the Emirates after Arsenal secured a massive 3-2 win over Manchester United on Sunday evening.
Neville has riled up Gunners fans of late, as he predicted Manchester City would still triumph in the league after Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Spurs last week.
And the former United defender doubled down on that prediction Sunday despite Arsenal’s five-point lead (with a game in hand) at the top of the table, as the home fans heckled him while he taped his post-match Sky podcast with Martin Tyler.

And he joked Monday after the game that he would a petition banning him from the Emirates
That animosity continued as more than 16,000 supporters liked a tweet from ‘The Arsenal Therapy Show’ suggesting Neville be banned from the Emirates stadium – but the former United defender was a good sport.
‘I will sign it,’ he said Monday morning. ‘Thought I was fair yesterday as well.’
The broadcaster stood by his belief Sunday that Pep Guardiola’s side would capture yet another Premier League title, predicting an ‘unbelievable run’ for the team which still has two meetings with Arsenal on their schedule.
Still, Neville was extremely complimentary of Arsenal after they downed his former side with a 90th-minute Eddie Nketiah winner.

‘It’s a monumental tally of points. 50 points halfway through a Premier League season is absolutely incredible,’ he said. ‘Not just in any season but incredible from where Arsenal were at the end of last season.’
Still, Neville’s praises didn’t stop Arsenal fans from interrupting his broadcast as he repeated his prediction.
‘I think there’s some Arsenal fans having a little bit of a pop,’ he laughed.
‘Are Arsenal gonna win the league? I don’t think you will. That’s life! But you’re having a great season, well done.’
Neville still thinks Manchester City will win the league yet again under Pep Guardiola
While Neville called Mikel Arteta’s work to bring the Gunners to their current league form a ‘brilliant achievement,’ he also wondered whether or not they should take their foot off the gas in another competition.
Arsenal will be part of the Europa League from the last 16, and a deep run could add games to an already-bloated fixture list as they aim to win their first Premier League since 2003.
‘I think moving forward with Arsenal with the Europa League, they might have to just dismiss that competition,’ he said.
‘That sounds ridiculous, but they’ve got an opportunity here. They can win the league, it would be incredible if they did win the league. And they’re in with a massive, massive shout.
