Mourinho responds to Jamie Redknapp-Roy Keane row with Reguilon admission

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has responded to the row between Jamie Redknapp and Roy Keane over the quality of Sergio Reguilon.

The Sky Sports pundits found themselves in a war of words about the Spurs side and how good they really are during Sunday's coverage of the 4-0 win over Burnley.

Keane argued that the vast majority of Mourinho’s squad wouldn’t get into any of the big clubs in England.

Redknapp stated that he was being slightly unfair, and put forward that Reguilon was one of the best left-backs in the country.

This led Keane to backtrack somewhat, though the United legend suggested he could not be that good if Madrid let him go.

When asked about the incident, Mourinho did not want to wade into the debate between former Spurs midfielder Redknapp and Keane on Sunday.

But the Portuguese did give Reguilon his full backing, listing off a number of attributes he has seen from him that he is pleased with.

Mourinho said: “I have huge respect for Roy. I love to work with him when I was at Sky, but independent of that, a winner like he is, I have lots of respect for Roy, and for his job as a pundit.

But I’m not going to make any comments.

“Of course Reggy comes from a culture of very technical football. He was born and made in a winning club, a club that is always playing to win.

"Where since you are a kid you are educated in that direction. He goes forward, he is quick, he is creative, he assists, he is enthusiastic.
