Mourinho could have found ‘Harry Kane replacement’ in Ciro Immobile
Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho could eye up Ciro Immobile as a replacement for Harry Kane should the England captain consider a move abroad this summer.
The Italian forward has scored 144 goals across 206 appearances since joining Lazio from Sevilla back in 2015 – which came after a disappointing season with Borussia Dortmund.
Although the 31-year-old might not be a like-for-like replacement for Kane, Spurs could be forced to find a new goalscorer should their star man fancy a new challenge.
The 27-year-old, who is under contract until the summer of 2024, has found a new style of play under Mourinho, scoring 36 goals and assisting 15 across 53 outings.
Spanish outlet Fichajes have reported that Immobile has been included on a ‘wish list’ at Spurs should Kane leave, which is at this stage a rather slim possibility.
While it is unlikely that Mourinho will be thinking about transfers as he targets a good run of form in the Premier League, the club will be eyeing up possible future additions.
Mourinho said of Kane earlier this month: "Harry Kane is a special player in the history of the club. He will beat every possible record. We had very good individual performances today.
"At the end of the season you have the truth, we will be where we belong, where we deserve to be."
After Kane said in November: "We have got players who have won things in the changing room, we have got good experience in the changing room, good leaders in the changing room, and I feel like we are at a place now where if we get it right mentally, we can achieve things, but we are not getting carried away.
"Obviously Jose is a winner at every level.

“It is just instilling that confidence into the team. He is a great man, with great experience, so us as players can only look at that and just take confidence from that.
“We have had a great relationship since he walked through the door."
