Mino Raiola drops hidden dig at Man Utd and says they were "wrong" about Haaland

Mino Raiola has dropped a hidden dig at Manchester United as speculation over Erling Haaland’s future continues.

United were keen on signing Haaland before he headed to Borussia Dortmund back in January 2020.

The Red Devils had suggested that they backed out of any deal due to the demands of Raiola, while there were also doubts as to how well Haaland would do in the Premier League.

But having left RB Salzburg, the Norwegian has shone with Dortmund, bagging 21 Bundesliga goals this season.

And Raiola has suggested that clubs that doubted the 20-year-old got it very wrong, with the forward potentially on the move again this summer.

Raiola, who is Haaland’s agent, told The Athletic: “With Haaland, everybody was wrong. He did things much quicker than everybody imagined.

“Haaland is in front of his own development. He is ahead of his own schedule.

“Maybe I was too careful when I said, ‘Oh no, let’s move to Dortmund instead of I-don’t-know-where’.

“This boy — I’m 100 per cent convinced and everybody’s convinced — can move to any club, wherever he wants, already on this level. And he could have done that last year.

“But maybe last year there were still teams (saying), ‘Oh, he was in Red Bull, can he do it in another club?’.

“He is quicker than his own prediction. So yeah, Haaland is the talk of the town.”

Reports have suggested it will take a huge €180m to lure Haaland away from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid have also been linked with the star, who played under United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Molde.
