Mikel Arteta has been told he "should sue FIFA" after the Arsenal manager was given arguably the worst face in the new game.

FIFA 23 is set to be released on Friday, September 30 with many fans waiting for it to drop, but Arsenal supporters might be left disappointed by the likenesses in their squad. Arteta is not the only one to have been done dirty, with the likes of Ben White and Emile Smith Rowe also looking nothing like their real selves.

The Gunners manager might be the worst of the lot, though, with many fans comparing him to the likes of Michael from GTA V, Mark Wright and 'Steve from down the road'.

A post on social media site Twitter wrote: "Mikel Arteta in FIFA ‘23. Cmon EA." And one fan replied: "I don’t know what worse, this or Petr Cech negotiating in his helmet…" This fan said: "That is Michael from GTA."

Another wrote: "Arteta should sue FIFA that looks nothing like him, he doesn’t even have jet black hair, or anything like him."

Are you excited for the new FIFA? If so, what are you looking forward to the most? Let us know in the comments section.

This supporter said: "I really don’t understand this, he used to be on the game a couple years ago before he retired surely they can update his old face scans."

While another posted: "More like him Mark Wright IMO." And this fan said: "That ain't Mikel, that's Steve from down the road."

But Arteta was not the only one to get the (lack of) details, with the likes of White, Smith Rowe, Albert Sambi Lokonga and Takehiro Tomiyasu also looking nothing like what they actually do in real life.

Meanwhile, some lucky gamers have been granted exclusive access to the game early before its nation-wide release, such as Jarrod Bowen for West Ham.
