Mbappe’s parents watch PSG loss from Real Madrid box as transfer links intensify

Speculation linking Kylian Mbappe to Real Madrid has ramped up after his parents reportedly watched Wednesday night's Champions League clash in the Bernabeu presidential box.

Mbappe opened the scoring in Madrid but it wasn't enough to prevent PSG from another European implosion.

The French giants were dumped out of the Champions League after falling to a 3-1 defeat, with Karim Benzema netting a hat-trick for Los Blancos.

But although Mbappe was left to rue his luck on a famous European night in Madrid, there's every chance that he could find himself back at the Bernabeu sooner rather than later in happier circumstances.

Mbappe has less than six months remaining on his deal in Paris and has been persistently linked with a move to Real.

And the noise surrounding a summer switch has intensified after Directo Gol claimed that Mbappe's parents were invited to watch the midweek clash in the Real presidential box.

Real are desperate to lure Mbappe to Spain and saw big-money bids rebuffed both in January and last summer for the French superstar.

But the Spanish giants are now poised to pinch the 23-year-old for nothing at the end of the season.

Losing Mbappe will be a major blow for PSG, who have been trying all year to persuade their star striker to pen fresh terms at the Parc des Princes.

Their attempts have been fruitless though, with Wednesday night's dramatic Champions League exit now set to be Mbappe's final European act in a PSG shirt.

Mbappe bagged both of PSG's goals across the round of 16 tie after netting a last-gasp winner in last month's first leg clash.

But Benzema went one better with his stunning midweek treble to send Real through the quarter-finals.

And although he stole the show in midweek, Real Madrid's match-winner still found the time to hail PSG's goalscoring prodigy.

He told RMC Sport: "Kylian was disappointed after the game, it's normal – he wanted to shine as always. But he's young, he has enough time to do it…"
