Kylian Mbappe is reportedly desperate to leave Paris Saint-Germain, despite penning a new deal at the club earlier this year. The France international wants to leave as early as the January transfer window due to his ‘broken’ relationship with the club.

According to Marca, Mbappe has told PSG that he feels ‘betrayed’ by them and would like to leave the club and could be granted that wish. However, they have already informed the 23-year-old that they would not entertain any offers from Real Madrid.

Los Blancos have been desperate to sign the forward over the past few years and came very close to securing his signature before he extended his deal with PSG. Mbappe is thought to remain keen on playing for Madrid one day, though Les Parisiens have been honest and said that they will not entertain offers from the La Liga outfit.

The relationship between owners Florentino Perez and Nasser Al Khelaifi has not ‘existed for a long time’, with neither of the pair willing to build bridges. Thus, the report states that Liverpool could be Mbappe’s only option, with Jurgen Klopp a long-term admirer of the forward and has shown a great deal of interest in signing him previously.

Though the Reds certainly won’t be the only club keeping tabs on Mbappe’s situation and other Premier League sides looking to make a statement may be interested. At Chelsea, Todd Boehly has never shied away from the prospect of marquee signings.

The new Blues owner was keen to acquire the services of Cristiano Ronaldo over the summer but Thomas Tuchel was adamant that he did not see the Portugal international as a good piece of business, leading to the plug being pulled on those talks. However, with Graham Potter now in the Stamford Bridge dugout, Boehly may finally be able to make his statement signing.

Liverpool have really struggled so far this season but the impact of adding one of the best players in world football into their squad could make a mammoth impact. However, it is no secret that the club are preparing to pursue Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund at the end of the season and thus will need to consider which deal they want to prioritise.

It remains to be seen whether Real Madrid decide to ignore PSG’s stubbornness and still table an offer for Mbappe in the January transfer window, or if the Ballon d’Or winner in-waiting decides to move elsewhere before fulfilling his dream of playing regularly at the Santiago Bernabeu.
