Mason Mount could return from injury to face Crystal Palace TOMORROW, as the Man United midfielder steps up his recovery… with Harry Maguire also back in training to ease Erik ten Hag’s injury concerns

  • Mason Mount has not played for man United in over a month due to injury
  • He is stepping up his recovery and could make his comeback tomorrow

Mason Mount is closing in on a return to action for Manchester United after stepping up his recovery from injury.

The 24-year-old has not featured for the Red Devils since picking up an injury in a 2-0 defeat at Tottenham on August 19, but was pictured in training last week and his condition is steadily improving.

He could now make his comeback in tomorrow night’s Carabao Cup clash with Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

Mount was seen smiling as he worked alongside his team-mates on Monday morning, and will be desperate to get back on the pitch after only playing two games for United since his £60m summer move.

Harry Maguire is also pushing to play after returning to training following a recent injury.

The England international has missed United’s last two matches, but is back with the first-team squad.

Fellow centre back Raphael Varane was also involved in training as United’s injury problems begin to ease.

Erik ten Hag has been left with a depleted squad for recent matches after injuries to Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Tyrell Malacia among others.

He only had five defenders in his squad for United’s 4-3 defeat against Bayern Munich last week, and had to call upon Jonny Evans in the 1-0 win over Burnley on Saturday after Lisandro Martinez became the latest player to be ruled out of action.
