Martin Tyler slated by fans for Raul Jimenez comment in Liverpool win vs Wolves
Sky Sports veteran Martin Tyler was slated by Wolves fans for his comment on Raul Jimenez.
The commentator was on duty as Liverpool secured a 1-0 win in the Black Country, making it first successive victories since the end of January.
With the home side remaining on 35 points, fans were treated to the sight of star striker Jimenez sitting in the stands.
The Mexican has been out of action since the end of November, when a clash of heads with Arsenal's David Luiz saw him suffer a fractured skull.
It saw the cameras pick up the 29-year-old in the stands, showing off a new blonde haircut.
And Tyler was heard commenting: “He’s had something done to his hair that suggests the skull isn’t too damaged.”
And the Molineux faithful were left fuming with the Sky Sports broadcaster for his comment.
“Jimenez dyed his hair so his skill is sound. Honestly, Martin Tyler is so poor at commentary it’s painful,” one supporter said.
Another commented: “Tyler suggesting Jimenez’s skill can’t be ‘too damaged’ because he dyed his hair – he fractured his skull, Martin!”
While a third held nothing back, with: “Martin Tyler is the most unprofessional commentator ever.
“His Jimenez comment was appalling. Should keep his comments to the play.”
And a fourth added: “Did Martin Tyler just say Jimenez’s skill is fine because he dyed his hair?
With a fifth writing: “You could literally see the scar on the side of his head. Man’s a tit.”
A sixth suggested it was time for a shake-up, with: “Absolute dinosaur – needs to retire.”

Another wrote: “Ramblings of a fella out of touch with reality.”
While a final viewer simply said: “Where to even start? F****ing hell.”
He had a gracious approach, though, when Wolves goalkeeper Rui Patricio went off in the last minutes with a suspected head injury, describing it as a "somber moment".
It is not the first time Tyler, who has been commentating on football for over 50 years, has been criticised for his remarks.
Tottenham fans were left displeased with the 75-year-old for his analysis of Erik Lamela’s sensational rabona goal in the 2-1 north London derby defeat to Arsenal.
