Mane may miss West Ham vs Liverpool – and Robertson’s FPL team provides clue
Sadio Mane could be left out of the Liverpool starting XI when they go away to West Ham on Sunday evening, with Andy Robertson’s FPL team providing a potential clue.
Mane found the back of the net in the Reds’ 3-1 win away at Tottenham on Thursday night, which was their first victory since December 19.
Jurgen Klopp will hope to see his side claim another set of three points against the Hammers, who are only two points behind in fifth place after enjoying a superb first half of the campaign.
However, Fantasy Football managers have come across a potential hint that Liverpool will be without Mane when they visit the London Stadium.
Eagle-eyed players have noticed that Robertson, Mane’s team-mate at Anfield, has transferred the Senegal international out of his team in Gameweek 21 and replaced him with Tottenham’s Son Heung-min.
He also took Mane out of his FPL side back in Gameweek 10, when he was dropped to the bench by Klopp in their 1-1 draw away at Brighton.
That could suggest Robertson knows his colleague won't figure at West Ham on Sunday, with fans now speculating that Mane may have picked up a knock.
Klopp has been dealt an injury crisis at Anfield this season, losing star defenders Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to serious knee problems earlier in the campaign.
Fabinho, who has been used as a makeshift centre-back in their absence, sustained a muscle issue before Thursday’s win at Tottenham and Joel Matip was forced off at half-time in that game after damaging ankle ligaments.
As a result, Klopp has confirmed that Liverpool are drawing up last-minute plans to sign an emergency centre-back before the January transfer window closes on Monday night.
