Manchester United will resume their Premier League campaign when they go up against Leicester in Saturday’s showdown at the King Power Stadium. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been in erratic form of late and, following the international break, could make as many as five changes. Express Sport will now take a look at those we’re expecting to be dropped for the match.

Raphael Varane out: Eric Bailly in

United, in their last match against Everton, started Raphael Varane alongside Victor Lindelof.

But with the France international now injured for the next few weeks, it gives Eric Bailly a chance to shine.

Bailly signed a new contract back in May after being promised more action – but has started just one match so far this season.

The Ivory Coast international is expected to get the nod at Leicester over Phil Jones, who has recently returned from injury.

And it’ll be a big occasion for Bailly to show that he’s got what it takes to command the club’s backline.

Fred out: Paul Pogba in

Fred is set to miss out for United against Leicester after going away with Brazil for international duty.

Coronavirus rules mean the Samba star will have no choice but to watch on from home, which gives Paul Pogba a window to come back into the side.

Pogba was left out against Everton, only coming on from the bench.

But after sparkling for France in their Nations League win over Spain, it seems a good time to move him back into the middle.

That would give United more of an opportunity to play some of their attacking players in the forward positions.

Mason Greenwood out: Jadon Sancho in

Mason Greenwood started the season in fine fettle, scoring three goals from three Premier League matches.

But with the goals drying up of late, he could be left on the bench against Leicester.

And that’s because of the way Jadon Sancho performed for England in the recent 5-0 hammering of Andorra.

Sancho has had a slow start to life at Old Trafford but found solace during the international break, clocking up two assists.

With the former Borussia Dortmund star needing a confidence boost, Solskjaer would be wise to play him while he’s got some statistics under his belt.

Anthony Martial out: Marcus Rashford in

Marcus Rashford is now back again.

The England international has been sidelined since the start of the season, ever since having shoulder surgery.

And though starting him against Leicester would be a gamble, at Anthony Martial’s expense, it’s possible he’ll start following his recent comments that he’s ‘injury free’.

“Last year was a very long season for me, I got this injury at the end of September and gradually it got that little bit worse,” he said.

“But now I’m fully free of that, I feel much better physically and mentally.”

Edinson Cavani out: Cristiano Ronaldo in

Like Fred, Edinson Cavani is another player poised to miss out due to rules over internationals.

But, even if the Uruguay international was available, he’d probably be on the bench.

United were criticised for their decision to rest Cristiano Ronaldo against Everton last time out, with the player understood to be furious about the decision.

So they daren’t do that again.

United are better with Ronaldo than they are without. So unleashing him up top against Leicester, on a day where they really need to win, would be a wise move.
