Manchester United are becoming increasingly resigned to missing out on Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
United are eager to bring in a new forward, with Kane, who has one year left on his current contract, their main target.
However, according to The Times, Erik ten Hag’s side aren’t confident that they will be able to sign Kane.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy hasn’t given any indication that he is open to selling Kane, who is also wanted by Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.
United could therefore turn their attention to other targets and may look to bring in two strikers – one with experience and a younger player, with Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund amongst the players under consideration in the latter category.

20-year-old Hojlund has scored five goals in four appearances for Denmark.
Kane, meanwhile, scored 30 Premier League goals for Tottenham this season despite the struggles that his team endured.
He is 47 goals away from matching Alan Shearer’s Premier League goalscoring record.
Although they have Marcus Rashford at their disposal, United need another forward, with Anthony Martial having scored just six league goals this season, while Wout Weghorst was unable to make much of an impact after joining on loan from Burnley.
United are much closer to bringing in a midfielder as they have agreed personal terms with Chelsea’s Mason Mount.
Declan Rice, meanwhile, is more likely to join Arsenal despite interest from United. It is unlikely that United will be able to afford to buy Rice as well as Mount and one or two strikers.
