Manager takes throw-in for team during match – and is not spotted by referee
IFK Norrkoping boss Rikard Norling took a quick throw for his side against Elfsborg this week, and it wasn’t spotted by the referee.
However, there is more to the story, with the throw taking place in a preseason clash against Elfsborg – and not under official match conditions.
The former AIK boss was made himself laugh by stepping in to have a small impact on the match, which ended as a 3-3 draw at the Platinumcars Arena.
Norling then turned serious in his post-match comments, with his side preparing for their Swedish Cup tie against GIF Sundsval on Saturday.
After Norling caught the match ball following a clash between two rival players, he decided to throw it in a regulation manner back to one of his defenders.
Although the ref could be seen gesturing which side had been awarded the restart, it is not known whether he spotted the incident and then decided to let the game go on.
Norling said of the match: “It was a fast pace and instructive for us, it is a pity that we do not win as we have the result when there are 20 seconds left.”

The incident was not the first time that a manager has got involved during an unofficial game, with Jose Mourinho tackling Olly Murs at Soccer Aid in 2014.
He said of the incident to Match of the Day mag: “At Soccer Aid Jose said to me, ‘I hear you’re a good player!’
"I was ripping his team apart and he was on the touchline – we got a corner and he said, ‘The next time you get the ball, I’m going to take you out.’ I just said, ‘Yeah, whatever!’
"Then the ball comes to me… and the next thing I know I’m on the floor!”
