Much of the summer transfer window in 2020 was dominated by one transfer saga – Jadon Sancho and his proposed move to Manchester United. The Borussia Dortmund winger was widely expected to move to Old Trafford amid reports he had agreed personal terms.
However, United bosses were unwilling to meet his £108million valuation, meaning a deal was unable to be struck.
This time around, he could be available for substantially less and there are suggestions a bid of around £80m could be accepted.
Star Sport report that the Red Devils are still keen on making the 21-year-old their major summer signing.
That may come at the expense of his Dortmund teammate Erling Haaland, who while still on the radar is believed to be lower down than Sancho.

With that in mind, Express Sport has taken a look at how Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could line up next season, if he lands his his top target at last.
Goalkeeper – Dean Henderson
Even at this late stage of the season it is extremely difficult to predict who will be United’s first-choice keeper come the first day of next term.
David de Gea has fallen down the pecking order, but Solskjaer did describe him as ‘world class’ following the win over Roma.
However, Mirror Sport claim the United boss is still unwilling to make assurances about the Spaniard’s future, hinting that Henderson could be the man going forward.

Defenders – Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Pau Torres, Luke Shaw
The only likely addition to the back four is a long-term partner for Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence.
Reports have suggested that Solskjaer is looking for a left footed centre-back to partner the skipper and Villarreal’s Pau Torres fits the bill.
Midfielders – Paul Pogba, Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes
Pogba will have just 12 months on his contract come the end of the season, but Solskjaer has spoken in glowing terms about the Frenchman and his importance has been clear to see – it looks likely he will stay.
There isn’t too much that needs to be said about Fernandes in front of those two, other than they will be hoping for a repeat campaign.
Forwards – Jadon Sancho, Edinson Cavani, Marcus Rashford
The signing of Sancho would fill the one glaring hole in United’s promising attack.
Mason Greenwood is a natural right-winger and signing the Dortmund star could allow him to develop centrally.
As for Cavani, Solskjaer has made it abundantly clear he wants to extend his contract beyond this summer and his performances have more than warranted it.
There will still be question marks about the future at No.9, they will hope Haaland is still an option come 2023.
