Man Utds plans already in place for big-money Kane or Haaland transfer

Manchester United hope to "heavily invest" in a striker ahead of the 2022/23 Premier League season, with the likes of Erling Haaland and Harry Kane likely to be considered if still available.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have enjoyed a strong start to the current transfer window after completing deals for Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane, though a new centre-forward has not arrived.

United will enter the new campaign with the likes of Edinson Cavani and Anthony Martial as goal threats up front, though some supporters had been hoping to see a big-name arrival in this position.

Haaland and Kane are two strikers that continue to be linked with exits from their current clubs, though there is a growing possibility that both players could stay put for another year.

The two prolific forwards have been identified as possible targets for the Red Devils, but a move of this kind is likely to be put on hold for another year for United.

According to ESPN, plans are "already in place" for the Red Devils to heavily invest in a new striker ahead of next season with the hope that both Kane and Haaland could still be on the market.

Kane continues to be linked with a £100m plus move to Manchester City, though Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is reluctant to sell his star man this summer.

As for Haaland, Chelsea are keen admirers of the talented Norwegian but have been unable to reach an agreement over a summer deal with Borussia Dortmund.

Discussing his future in a recent interview with Bild, Haaland said:

“I don’t really have much to say about this. I have three years left on my contract and I’m enjoying my time here (at Dortmund).

“Before yesterday, I didn’t speak to my agent in one month – I think you have the answer there.

“I don’t really care too much about that. It’s a lot of money – I hope it’s just rumours to be honest because that’s a lot of money for a person!”
