Kevin De Bruyne’s Man City comments will be terrifying for Man Utd and Arsenal

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has issued a warning that Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United, and the club’s other rivals will not have wanted to hear. Pep Guardiola’s side may be on the verge of a historic treble, but according to his midfield maestro, they will never tire of winning and don’t plan to stop anytime soon.

City lifted their fifth Premier League in six years at the Etihad Stadium after beating Chelsea 1-0 on Sunday – and their third on the bounce.

The Citizens outlasted Arsenal in a hard-fought title battle, which Mikel Arteta and co. led by eight points at the start of April.

But just two wins in eight games followed, and Guardiola’s relentless winners’ class shone brightly to add a ninth league title to their trophy cabinet.

De Bruyne turns 32 in June, but he was, once again, a crucial cog in the Catalan’s plans, striking up a deadly partnership with ruthless record-breaker Erling Haaland.

And he has insisted that City will be hungry for silverware and success for the remainder of his iconic tenure at the club and beyond.

He said: “We like to win, and we’re never bored of it. We’ve won a lot in the past, but we want to win again and again. I’m sure the future will be the same.

“It’s incredible to win three times in a row. It’s hard work, but we deserve it. The hunger is there, the mentality is good, and it’s a good group.

“We just want to play good football. Pep makes sure the group stays hungry, and the group is very humble.”

City now essentially have three warm-up games in the league before pursuing the treble in June, attempting to match a feat only done before by rivals United.

Guardiola’s men clash with the Red Devils in the FA Cup final on June 3 before facing surprise finalists Inter Milan for their maiden Champions League a week later.

“The league doesn’t lie – we were the best. Arsenal were incredible – especially in the first part of the season,” De Bruyne added.

“In the end, though, we deserved it. We came back, and we’ve won a lot of games.”

He continued: “We should enjoy the celebrations with everybody, then prepare for Manchester United and Inter Milan, and hopefully, we can do something special.

“Everybody wants it. We know we need to win two games, but they are hard games, and we need to prepare ourselves as best as possible, and hopefully, we can win them.”
