Man Utd’s plan for Elanga as Sancho arrival reduces first-team chances even more
Anthony Elanga is set to hold talks with Manchester United chiefs over his plans for next season – with the potential arrival of Jadon Sancho likely to reduce his chances of first-team football.
Elanga, 19, put pen to paper on a new United contract in March and followed it up by scoring his first goal for the club in their final-day win away at Wolves.
The teenage winger then linked up with Sweden's Under-21 side this summer, getting on the scoresheet on his debut against Finland earlier this month.
While on international duty, Elanga admitted he was planning to discuss his next move with United upon return.
He also opened the door for a potential loan move away from Old Trafford in the summer transfer window, which could be the best move for his development if Sancho arrives as expected.
Reports in Germany suggest United are close to wrapping up a deal for the England winger after making a breakthrough in negotiations with Borussia Dortmund this week.

Sancho joining Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's squad will only push Elanga further down the pecking order, meaning a loan move would surely be on the cards.
The United youngster told Fotbollskanalen earlier this month: "It has been a fantastic experience to make a debut. I've learned so much. All players are very welcoming to me, they give me good tips and make it very easy for me when I step on the field.
"I just have to keep working hard in training. How I train is how I play, so if I train very hard I will play very well.
"But right now my focus is on the U21 national team here. Then, when this get-together is over, I will sit down with the club and discuss what is best for me for next season.

"You must be ready if they want to send you out on loan or back to the U23 team. I can not say that I play for the A-team yet. You have to be ready all the time and give 150 percent in training.
"If I get my chance on the pitch, I have to take it. If I can score then it's a bonus, if I can play well it's even better."
