Man Utd’s £130m Ansu Fati bid one of three offers rejected by Barcelona

Manchester United had a £130m bid for Ansu Fati rejected by Barcelona in the summer.

The young forward is among football's brightest prospects having already established himself in the Catalan's first team.

But the Spanish side are in a state of financial turmoil and United attempted to test their resolve with a mega money bid.

A £130m move would've made Fati that third most expensive player of all time, but Barcelona had no interest in offloading the 18-year-old, reports Mundo Deportivo.

Nou Camp chiefs also had to turn down offers for Pedri and Francisco Trincao.

The former was the subject of a £35m bid from Bayern Munich.

Barcelona also received an offer for Trincao of over £50m according to super agent Jorge Mendes.

Despite their need to raise funds the Catalans opted to rebuff all approaches as they see the trio as part of their future make-up.

Between them the trio have clocked up more than 70 appearances this term which underlines their importance to current boss Ronald Koeman.

Fati has been out for several months however after undergoing knee surgery and his manager has called for patience regarding his return.

“Out of respect for the player, I am not the person to speak about his recovery,” said Koeman.

“You have to have respect for him and I am not in favour of rushing things.

“When there is an update, we will communicate it from the club.

“The most important thing is that he recovers calmly. He has a lot of future ahead of him and you have to do things right.”

Spain boss Luis Enrique has already stated that he's optimistic about his chances of playing in this summer European Championship.
