Man Utd target’s WAG who reportedly blocked Red Devils move shows Barca love

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong will be going nowhere this summer if his girlfriend Mikky Kiemeney has anything to do with it – having showcased her love for the city.

De Jong was Manchester United's top transfer target last summer after he slipped down the pecking order at the Camp Nou, but talks fell through with Casemiro moving to Old Trafford from Real Madrid instead.

Mikky, who recently poked fun at United fans for asking her when he will be in Manchester, has now reiterated her love for living in Catalonia on social media having reportedly played a part in them staying there.

In an Instagram photo drop to her 1.6 million followers, Mikky is seen with pals and her partner across the city while showcasing beaming smiles.

The first photo shows the 25-year-old smiling with a friend at the Nou Camp, with others including the celebrating of her birthday as well as going on walks and enjoying a tipple.

United fans on this occasion chose to stay away from the comments section, but one Barcelona supporter made their thoughts clear by posting: "FRENKIE STAY FOREVER."

At one stage playing in the centre of defence during a time of need under Xavi, the Netherlands international is now back in favour – and back in midfield.

The former Ajax hero, also 25, has made 38 appearances in the middle of the park and is on the brink of his first La Liga championship triumph.

ESPN reported that United are still interested in a potential deal back in April despite his contract running until the summer of 2026.

That came shortly after he was praised by his manager for showcasing his leadership qualities across what has been an unrivalled domestic campaign.

He said: "He has been at an extraordinary level for months.

"He gives us a lot. He breaks lines of pressure, he drives forward.. he is one of the best midfielders in the world. He's spectacular."
