Man Utd target waves goodbye to supporters in emotional scenes ahead of transfer
Manchester United target Altay Bayindir was given the chance to enter the field and wave goodbye to Fenerbahce supporters ahead of his potential switch to Old Trafford prior to the Turkish side’s Conference League qualifier against FC Twente. Earlier this week, Bayindir was in Athens, Greece to undergo a pre-medical examination in which United staff made checks on a recent back injury as they weighed up a swoop for the 25-year-old.
Bayindir then flew back to Istanbul while United decided whether they would be pushing ahead with the deal.
But now it looks as though they’re ready to press the button as Bayindir bid an emotional farewell to Fenerbahce on Thursday evening.
Video footage has surfaced from the stands of Bayindir entering the pitch ahead of kick-off to wave goodbye to supporters inside a packed Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
He can be seen applauding each stand as fans passionately chanted his name before he swiftly exited the pitch.

The clip suggests a deal could now be imminent and if that is the case, Bayindir would be expected to undergo a second medical in Manchester ahead of a transfer.
United could reportedly pay an initial £4.5million which could rise to £6m including add-ons.
Erik ten Hag’s side have considered other alternatives this summer including Benfica’s Odysseas Vlachodimos.
The Greek international is now expected to remain in Lisbon, however despite United’s interest.

The Red Devils are preparing for the departure of Dean Henderson as the England international edges closer to the exit door.
In the past 10 days, Crystal Palace have joined Nottingham Forest in the race for his signature.
Henderson spent last term on loan at Forest before a season-ending injury halted his progress at the City Ground.
Forest remain interested but they have since signed USMNT goalkeeper Matt Turner from Arsenal.
Sheffield United are also said to be keen on re-signing Henderson who has previously spent two seasons at Bramall Lane.
Should Bayindir arrive, he will be the club’s fourth summer signing after the arrivals of Mason Mount, Andre Onana and Rasmus Hojlund.
Jonny Evans also looks set to arrive on a free transfer by signing a shock one-year deal at Old Trafford.
United are now focusing their efforts on outgoings which could determine whether any further signings arrive before the September 1 transfer deadline.
