Man Utd star Telles on how he almost missed game due to his mischievous dog
Manchester United left-back Alex Telles has revealed how he almost missed a crucial Copa Libertadores game while at Gremio.
Telles, who joined United last October, started his career the Brazilian side, making 39 appearances for the Porto Allegre side.
Three of those outings came in the Copa Libertadores, the South American version of the Champions League, which Gremio had won twice by the time Telles was playing for them.
The cross-continental tournament requires teams to fly to most matches, with Gremio facing Ecuadorian side L.D.U. Quito, Chilean team C.D. Huachipato, Venezurlean Primera Division runner-up Caracas FC and Colombian champions Sante Fe in the 2013 tournament.

But his Liberatores campaign took a turn for the surreal while he was staying with team-mate Jakson Follmann.
While staying with Follmann, Telles adopted Popcorn the dog, who nearly ruined his chances of being able to take part in one of Gremio’s Libertadores matches.
“We shared an apartment in Porto Alegre, in the times of Grêmio,” Telles told the Show dos Esportes program at Rádio Gaúcha Serra 102.7 FM.
“It was a year where we learned many things together. I adopted Popcorn and it was a hurricane at the time. He travelled less and stayed at home with her. It destroyed everything.
“One day I arrived on a trip and he told me that Popcorn ate my passport. Worst of all, the following week we had a trip to Libertadores. I had to run to make another one.
“After a while I found out that he locked her in my room because I couldn't take it.”
Telles stayed with Gremio for just one season before departing for Turkish giants Galatasaray in a £6million move.
