Man Utd star Harry Maguire surpasses 100k TikTok followers on day he joins app
Manchester United captain Harry Maguire has joined TikTok with his official account gaining more than 100k followers in the opening eight hours.
The England centre-back sustained an ankle ligament injury against Aston Villa last month but has still made Gareth Southgate's 26-squad for the upcoming European Championships.
The rest of his teammates are currently in Middlesbrough taking part in a pre-tournament warm-up camp at Rockliffe Park.
Last night England beat Austria 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium where they will return to face Romania on Sunday.
In a bid to pass the time Maguire has set-up a new social media account where he has already gained a mass following.
In his first post the United star welcomed his fans to his new platform:
"Hi everyone, excited to finally be on TikTok," said Maguire.
"Looking forward to sharing some content
"Looking forward to meeting up with the England team and hopefully we can bring back that trophy."

The video has currently been watched over 1.2 million times by Maguire's loyal following.
It's not the only platform the England defender has taken by storm. He currently boasts 1.2 million Twitter followers on top of a whopping 2.3 million on Instagram.
Despite the immense following, it will be of little consolation to the Man Utd captain if he is unable to feature at this summers European Championships.
Maguire will be hoping to be fit enough for England's first game at the Euros against Croatia on June 13
Although Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate has admitted 'it's going to be tight for the first game.'
The ex-Leicester centre-back hasn't played since early May when he was taken off after 78 minutes in United's 3-1 win against Aston Villa.
