Man Utd ‘send Harry Kane instructions’ to complete £100m Old Trafford transfer
Five potential transfer destinations for Harry Kane
Manchester United have reportedly told Harry Kane to agitate for a transfer to Old Trafford if he wants to make the move happen this summer. Erik ten Hag is still thought to be quietly hopeful that a deal can somehow be struck for the England captain, who has been identified as a signing that could elevate the Red Devils to the next level.
Yet United recently decided to cool their interest in the 29-year-old after acknowledging that their chances of signing the prolific centre-forward were minimal.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has no interest in selling Kane to another Premier League club and Real Madrid have since decided that Kane is out of their financial reach following Karim Benzema’s move to Al-Ittihad in Saudi Arabia.
Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain remain interested in Kane but he is understood to favour staying in England as he attempts to gun down Alan Shearer’s all-time Premier League goalscoring record.
Now The Sun are reporting that United have left the ball in Kane’s court over a move, telling his agent and brother Charlie Kane that the Tottenham talisman must take matters into his own hands to force through the deal.

It’s thought that United require Kane to hand in a transfer request to swing the balance and up the pressure on Tottenham chief Levy to sell.
Kane, who scored twice at Old Trafford on Monday in England’s 7-0 demolition of North Macedonia, is prepared to run down the final year of his Tottenham deal that expires in 2024 if he is unable to secure a move this summer.
Back in 2021, he actively pushed for a transfer to Manchester City but Tottenham held firm and rejected numerous bids from the Premier League champions.
Now Kane holds the cards as he approaches the final 12 months of his deal and Tottenham could this time be forced to sell if the player outlines his desire to move on.

United are understood to value Kane at close to £80m while Spurs would require a bid of £100m to even consider a sale.
The Red Devils have been monitoring a host of alternative striker targets but they have only submitted bids for Kane’s England team-mate Mason Mount to date this window.
Atalanta’s Rasmus Hojlund has been monitored closely but the Italian club are looking for close to £80m to sell the Danish talent.
Similar fees would also be required to strike agreements with Eintracht Frankfurt and Benfica for Randal Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos, respectively.
Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins is also believed to be of admiration although he is well down United’s shortlist.
Victor Osimhen is priced at well over £100m by Napoli following his goalscoring exploits last season in Serie A where he helped fire Luciano Spalletti’s side to the title.
Kane is currently on course to remain at Tottenham where he will be working under a new head coach in the form of Ange Postecoglou.
Back in January, he had hinted he was open to discussing a new contract in ‘the coming months’ but there has since been no indications that a new deal is imminent.
