Man Utd prodigy Garnacho sends fans wild with insane free-kick for Argentina U20

Alejandro Garnacho has once again set Manchester United tongues wagging following his free-kick heroics for Argentina's U20.

In what has been a torrid time for the Red Devils of late, the wonderkid has emerged as one of United's great hopes for the future and he once again underlined what all the fuss is about while on international duty. The 17-year-old struck a sensational free-kick which United team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo would have been proud of, before adding a second late on to continue his rich vein of form in front of goal.

Cruelly, Garnacho's curled stunner proved to be a mere consolation as his Argentina U20 side, managed by Liverpool legend Javier Mascherano, fell to a 6-2 defeat to France at the Toulon tournament on Saturday. Despite Garnacho ending up on the losing side, it's fair to say the United prodigy's individual performance has sent the Red Devils fans into hysteria.

Following Garnacho's sublime set-piece, one fan took to Twitter to gush: "Despite losing 6-2 to France in the Toulon Tournament, Alejandro Garnacho with a brace for Argentina. What a future he has in football – his free-kick was sensational, has such a good skill-set for a 17 year old, his movement, his aggression, he has so much ability on his shoulders.

Another added: "The consistency of this guy… he is inevitable. Reminds me of someone else." A third declared: "He’s going right to the top I tell ya."

The talented teenager's display also saw United fans calling for their club to "wake up" and promote the youngster to the first-team on a permanent basis next season. One fan said: "@ManUtd you need to wake up on this one! Garnacho is a special talent," while another added, "Bro should be involved in senior team next season."

Garnacho and his Argentina team-mates have been made to wait to discover whether they have progressed to the Toulon tournament knockouts as defeat to France has left Mascherano's men requiring other results to go their way. Regardless, the United star-in-the-making has already proved his worth this summer, having now netted three in the tournament following his brace against the French.

The 17-year-old, who was born in Madrid and represented Spain at U18 level, switched his allegiance to Argentina – the country of his mother's birth – back in March. The teen was called up to the Argentina senior squad as part of an initial 44-man selection for their World Cup qualifiers in the same month.

Garnacho also hit the headlines after making his United first-team bow as a late substitute in the Red Devils' 1-1 draw with Chelsea at Old Trafford back in April and helped the club's youth team clinch the FA Youth Cup for an 11th time last month. The Argentine ace bagged a brace in the final to confirm his status as the star of his side's successful cup run.
