Man Utd on alert as Declan Rice rejects third contract offer from West Ham
West Ham star Declan Rice has turned down a third contract offer at the club, it has been reported.
The England star, 22, has been linked with a move away from the London Stadium but no bids have been made for the midfielder who is valued at around £100m.
He is reportedly unhappy with that valuation as it prices him out of any transfer.
And now it has been reported by The Times that Rice has turned down a third contract offer from the Hammers.
The news will alert some of his admirers, including Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
It is understood the Premier League champions view him as a long-term replacement for Fernandinho.
Rice was an outstanding member of the Hammers side that finished 6th in the league last season.
He also played a key role in England's run to the Euro 2020 final before Gareth Southgate's side lost to Italy.
It is understood Rice is not pushing for a fast exit and is not against another season at West Ham.
But he is keen on challenging himself with Champions League football, with a move in the summer of 2022 the most likely outcome.
He is a master of interceptions and has improved the offensive side of his game as well, with both qualities appealing to City and United in particular.
His West Ham side face Leicester at in their first Premier League game at the London Stadium this season.
It followed their opening 4-2 win over Newcastle away.
Ahead of the clash Hammers boss David Moyes challenged Michail Antonio, who scored against the Magpies, can easily become the club's top Premier League scorer ever.
He is currently level with Hammers legend Paolo Di Canio.
The Scot said: "I think Mick will see it as a big deal and so he should do because West Ham, if you look through the eras, have had so many great players.
"So I think that for Micky to have the chance to do it, having started as a winger and then full-back and wing-back, for this period in his career he is a centre-forward so I hope he gets in front by about 20 or 30 goals ahead of Paolo Di Canio."
