Man Utd new boy Amad Diallo has already caused torment to Man City
Manchester United’s new youngster Amad Diallo has already caused torment to rivals Manchester City.
The 18-year-old arrived from Atalanta on Wednesday, securing a travel permit this month after a deal was made in October.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has already asked the Ivorian to improve his “physical qualities” but could have a role to play in the Premier League.
And Diallo already knows about taking on the club’s fiercest rivals, having faced City in his time at Atalanta.
At 16 years old, he took on the Cityzens in a UEFA Youth League group stage game for the Italian side in October 2019.
Wearing the No.10 shirt, the forward tore down the right wing and created several chances for his forwards.
Videos from the game show the Ivorian displaying incredible ball control, rapid acceleration and vision to see team-mates in space on the other side of the pitch.
And Diallo earned reward from the game, skipping past two City defenders and the goalkeeper to grab a goal.
It came after the forward provided an assist for David Ghislandi to open the scoring in a 3-1 win at the MCFC Academy Stadium.
United’s latest arrival impressed his new side in the 2019/20 season, scoring eight goals and making 11 assists.
While most of his work came in the academy side, Diallo did get one of his strikes on his senior debut against Udinese in the same month as the City triumph.
Spending this season with the academy, the teenager arrived at Carrington on Wednesday after gaining a work permit.
Diallo told United’s official website : “I’m over the moon to be here. I’m so excited to start here at Manchester United.
“It’s a dream come true and I can’t wait to start and play with the guys.”
United fans also got a glimpse of the forward’s talent in the Champions League with an incredible weaker-foot shot in his substitute appearance against Midtjylland.
