Manchester United aren’t expected to loan Shola Shoretire and Anthony Elanga out this season, reports say. Both players have impressed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. And it seems as though the Red Devils have decided to keep their young duo ahead of today’s Premier League showdown with Southampton.
Manchester United go up against Southampton today looking to make it two wins from two in the Premier League.
They were far too strong for Leeds last time out, winning 5-1 in a stirring performance at Old Trafford.
And now, ahead of this afternoon’s match, the Daily Mail claim United are primed to keep Shoretire and Elanga for the upcoming campaign.
The Red Devils do like loaning out young talent to enhance their careers.
Yet United are planning to keep the pair as they look to win the title this term, with both players highly-rated behind the scenes.

Shoretire made his debut for the club last season, making two appearances by the end of the campaign.
That came after he’d sparkled in the Premier League 2, scoring 10 goals and registering five assists from 21 matches.
Elanga, meanwhile, also made his debut last season.
And he impressed when called upon, scoring in the 2-1 victory over Wolves on the final day of last season.
That happened after he’d bagged 10 goals and clocked up eight assists from 26 Under-18 Premier League matches.

And, in the Premier League 2, he scored nine times and managed four assists from 23 appearances in the competition.
Elanga flourished in pre-season for United but did pick up an injury.
And Solskjaer recently said: “He’s [Elanga] not fully fit yet.
“He’s doing his rehab but he’s working hard on the grass. At least he’s out from the gym and outside in the lovely Manchester weather!”
Meanwhile speaking ahead of United’s Premier League clash with Southampton today, Solskjaer hinted Raphael Varane and Jadon Sancho are ready to start.
”Yeah, I would think so,” he said.
“Of course, I was worried before Leeds with the lack of minutes a few had but we managed to get through on adrenaline.
“The first couple of games you play in a season you get through by adrenaline no matter how many games you have played in pre-season.
“The clue is to be consistent. Not to have all the adrenaline in the first one or two. So we need a foundation.
“They might start, they might not start – it’s a long season.”
On Varane specifically, he added: “He certainly has all the credentials and quality to do that [succeed].
“He’s impressed me since he’s come here.
“He wants to learn about our style of play. He works hard, he wants to get his fitness up.
“It’s been a while since he played in the Euros. He’s very meticulous, he’s such a top professional.
“You can see his honours, his trophies – but you also look at him and what he’s done off the pitch.
“There’s not a lot of trouble there, so for a manager I’m very impressed by him.”
